This real estate business has been in the Westerly area since the early 1900's. It was first named Gavitt Realty and then Lewiss Realty. In 1959 Stanton J. Terranova, Sr. established Stanton Realty (incorporated in 1993). Stanton, an electrician by trade with a young family, jumped into the real estate business and established himself as a leader in sales and rentals in Misquamicut Beach.
He commissioned his two sisters, Lois and Jane, and brother-in-law, Laverne, to work along side him during the formative years making Stanton Realty a true family enterprise. His entrepreneurship extends into other ventures of Westerly, RI. One of them was The Pleasant View Inn. From 1965 to 2013 he owned and operated the 112 room oceanfront resort further securing Misquamicut Beach as a summer destination.

Checked into our rental which was dirty and unsanitary, when we expected better because of COVID. Rental did not have all the amenities stated in the description, most importantly bed sizes. Toilet was filthy and walking on the floors turned our grandkids' feet BLACK. Bathroom sink dripped so the owner placed a bowl under the sink which kept overflowing and spilling out all over the bathroom floor, which we had to keep cleaning. This will be our first time renting through Stanton, but we are unsure how the process will shake out. I originally sent an email message through the website to inquire about specific units, and left a detailed voice mail. A week later, still no response. I finally reached an agent, who while very pleasant, she was not aware of any units open for rent in 2021, until I gave her the info available on the actual Stanton interactive map. I did put a deposit on a unit that would be acceptable, but not exactly what we are hoping to rent. I was surprised that there would be no additional follow up if

I have been renting houses in the Misquamicut beach area through Stanton. I have been dealing with Melissa for a few years now. She has been wonderful to me. I have some special needs and I get a bit stressed but Melissa takes care of things and makes the renting experience go smoothly. Very professional and such a caring person.

We have rented from Stanton Realty in Westerly RI for many years. They have been good to us over the years with very few issues. This year, due to COVID, we were forced to make some quick decisions about renting a house. The house we rented this year(33 Uzzi Ave/Osprey) was awful, it was filthy, unusual odor, very hot and dark. It stated, “window A/C” and outdoor shower, there was one small A/C window unit for a 4 bedroom home and a shower rinse outside. Extremely misleading.
