Services
In the late 1980's, Cave Spring's first funeral home, Cave Spring Memorial Chapel, opened under the direction of Mr. Randall Cole in a small house on Love Street. Later, renamed the Cole Funeral Home, the firm moved to the funeral home's current location in 2000, only to close in the fall of 2001.
Whether your family's choice is for a traditional service, a basic cremation, or something in between, we at John House's Cave Spring Chapel consider it an honor to serve your family and we will strive to carry out your wishes down to the smallest detail. We hope to serve you in the old school, personal manner that was the hallmark of funeral service in days gone by, but has now fallen by the way-side with most funeral service providers.
When it comes to your final arrangements, shouldn't you make the decisions? The arrangements you make will reflect your exact wishes and desires. Pre-arranging your own service will help to ease the burden of your loved ones. It will also alleviate any questions, problems or differences, which can occur among family members.
There was a time when a funeral home was just that, someone's home that was used for funeral services; a home where the owner opened his doors to his neighbors, cared for those that had died, and served those that survived. Friends called and services were held. That tradition of old continues today at John House's Cave Spring Chapel Funeral Home.
The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.
