The Orange County Cooperative Development Corporation is a member-owned association dedicated to serving the needs of local growers, producers, and consumers by providing goods, services, and healthy food choices at fair value. We promote community well-being, economic prosperity, and self-reliance through cooperation.
The national push to develop food cooperatives in rural areas captured the attention of the board of directors of Orange County Homegrown, a community development organization with experience in developing local farmers markets within the county. The farmers market success developed the need and support for local produce and a platform for continuing the discussion about the importance of healthful eating in a poorly nourished county.

This is a different kind of grocery store. It has bins where you can get things by weight, pour it in a little bag, have it weighed, and pay. Of course, they have some of the regular groceries, cans, meats, pops, wines, etc...packaged and ready to go. Here you can get just a cup of sugar or just 2 cups of flour for a certain recipe. And they aren't big on the big brand names. You're going to be able to check new rarely known brands. I know some who love it and rave about it. I know others who don't know what to do there and hate. I think its a fun way to shop. I wouldn't do it every week or everyday

We loved this place. A friend from Ramsey met us there for lunch. It's an hour drive from Louisville and worth every minute. We loved the locally sourced food, the outside seating, the friendly atmosphere, and particularly the fabulous desserts. Large cookies, pies, brownies, etc. We will be back for sure.

I immediately felt at home...friendly and helpful staff! Food was fresh and delicious. After sampling the 3 soups of the day, I decided on Tomato Bisque. Homemade persimmon pudding and homemade bagels!! A wide variety of locally prepared sandwiches and wraps. Many Amish crafts, foods and meats available for purchase. A totally wonderful experience!
