Tuscan Hills Winery
Tuscan Hills Winery began as a big dream of a local family and has blossomed into a place of gathering where people of all ages can relax and have fun. The owners, Wes and Wanda Pitcher want all visitors to "Come as our guests, leave as our friends." Tuscan Hills Winery provides an old-world Tuscan feel in the heart of Effingham, Illinois.

All of the wines are tastefully crafted and bottled in the wine cellar and wine tastings are available daily. However, if wine isn't the drink for you, we also offer a full bar, local craft beers, wine-slushies, sangrias, and a variety of food offerings.
Services
The tale of Tuscan Hills Winery is interwoven with the love story of a Midwest boy and a Canadian girl. Wes Pitcher and Wanda Berglund's story begins in a tourist camp in Northwestern Ontario where Wes's family vacationed for two weeks every summer. Wanda's family owned and operated this outpost camp which Wanda still owns today as a 3rd generation tourist outfitter.
Imagine driving down a winding path lined with grapevines and arriving on a secluded farmstead with beautiful landscaping at every turn. The roundabout greets you with a water fountain surrounded by roses. The Gazebo is flanked by more roses and a background of more grapevines that are sure to provide a lush green background for your photographs.
A medium-sweet wine displaying a little spiciness and a big fresh fruity flavor; pineapple, crisp green apple, grapefruit and light spices with a hint of vanilla. Far and away our best-selling wine! A full-bodied, sweet blush wine with a bold strawberry flavor. Enjoy the aromas of Concord and Pink Catawba grapes, plus cherries, roses and a candied-fruit medley.
Try one of our new CHARCUTERIE BOARDS! Available anytime, these daringly different charcuterie boards offer a little something soft or crunchy, sweet or savory! The current food options include: calabrese salami, sundried tomato basil goat cheese, date and almond artisan crackers, French brie & honey, stone ground mustard and pretzels, triple chocolate toffee and more.

What a wonderful place!
Great staffβ€”delicious wine for every pallet (my husband loves sweet and I love dry reds)
We stopped in for lunch with our pup Daisy on our road trip south. We were invited in & Daisy was given the best pets and the nicest of compliments. They gave us great wine recommendations and let us try before we committed to a glass. It’s December, but the grounds are well kept and we’re perfect for a walk while we waited for our pizza. And the pizza was scrumptious! We got a veggieβ€”toppings were fresh, sauce was yummy, & oh my goodness the crust was crisp and buttery.

Pluses--very nice building, plenty of outdoor seating during nice weather, and good facility for large groups and events. They apparently also allow customers to bring their own snacks, which many did.
Minuses--The wine. They have lots to select from, but most aren't great. We enjoy many types of wines, but only found two here to be passable. Several had no body. Some others had a medicinal aftertaste. We usually buy several bottles when we visit wineries. We didn't leave with any from Tuscan Hills.

We ordered two flatbread pizzas and they were pretty mediocre. They

9/7/2021. While traveling through Illinois, we were able stay overnight with the Harvest Host program.
Wonderful Winery !! Easy on/off I-70 and plenty of room to park Big Rigs. There were 5 other visitors the night we stayed.

Staff is very friendly, Steve, Erin & Brook. We enjoyed the conversations, the vibe, wine & food. Inside is a "Bistro" setting and it continues to the large area outside as well. We ordered the Loaded cheesy bread... along with our Wine Tasting..... YUM !!
Very dog friendly. Highly recommended to stop by..... even without a Coach !!

What a wonderful surprise! Effingham is always a stop on our trip home home out east. This time we noticed a sign for Tuscan Hills Winery- of course we had to check it out. First off, it was a Sunday and they are open till 7 - SCORE!! Second -they serve food-BONUS! We did a tasting ( $5 fir 5 selections of our choice) we also ordered the white garlic sausage flatbread and loaded bread ( vaycay-carbs don't count)
Food was fabulous and plenty to share. Our favorite on the wines was a cold big okra on a hot July day. We ordered a bottle to enjoy with our meal. This place was so pretty- lots

We stopped in Effingham for lunch on the way to a wine tasting weekend in Carbondale. We were pleasantly surprised to find a winery near our stop!
The outdoor seating area was large and nice for social distancing, with everyone wearing masks. Staff all very friendly!
Loved the caramel apple sangria and bought a half gallon to go! The wines were good too, but the sangria stole the spotlight!

Friendly staff, tasty pizza to accompany your wine. Their Andiamo is the crispest and most refreshing! It's like the Sancerre of the midwest! Wine from rocks. Delish! Vignole ain't too shabby either!

П·πŸ₯‚πŸΊGreat experience! Good pizza and good wine. We've tried a different kind of wine each time we've been there. They have a good selection of wine and beer actually. Great atmosphere. Lovely decor. Knowledgeable staff. Apparently, they like their job. Have had different hosts each time to give wine info. Everyone seems to know their stuff. We'll continue to stop on our trips up state. Looking forward to sitting outside when weather gets a little warmer. Definitely worth the effort to stop in.🍷πŸ₯‚πŸΊπŸ•
And just an FYI: they're stocking beer from a budding young brewery. The name

Tuscan Hills Winery is tucked away in what's probably the most idyllic part of Effingham. The atmosphere is very Mediterranean and intimate, but the space is still large enough for big parties. My friends and I enjoyed sitting outside after a long day at work and listening to the live band croon some acoustic and rock versions of 90's rock songs.

The food was also carb-tastic and just what we needed. Three of us shared a 12 inch sausage pizza and Italian cheese and herb stuffed baguette. If I hadn't read another review, I never would have guessed that the food is all frozen and

As it says on their shirts, Tuscan Hills is the best "effing winery." We stopped here on our way to St. Louis and it did not disappoint. We each did a flight and truly enjoyed each wine. Got a bottle to take with us. The atmosphere was relaxing, the facility is gorgeous, and the staff is friendly too. So glad we got to experience this winery!

Came down from Chicago to rent a lake house with some friends and wanted to explore some local spots while we were in the lower part of the state. We really enjoyed ourselves at Tuscan Hills. The young women at the bar were very friendly and attentive. Wines were decent. Mostly on the sweeter side but that's what a lot of people like in the area, and there were 4 drier options. Really nice ambience inside and outside. We found out that it is open late on weekends with live music some nights in the summer. Best part is we got to bring our dog with us where she got a lot of attention. Wines
