Kedz Funeral Home began serving the Ocean County community in 1969 and for 50 years has built it's reputation by assisting area families with personal service and attention to detail. Jim lives at the funeral home with his wife Marilou. At some time in our lives, most of us will make or assist in making funeral arrangements for a family member or friend. The funeral is an important ritual. As difficult as it may be to face, most of us accept death as an inevitable part of life. Today, a dignified funeral ceremony and opportunity to say "good-bye" to the deceased remains an important part of life.
No matter if a death is sudden, or if it something that was a long time coming, the loss of a loved one makes us feel emotional and overwhelmed. No amount of preparation can fully prepare you for the loss of a loved one. When you are in a heightened emotional state, even the most basic decisions can seem staggering.
Traditionally, a burial service involves a visitation, followed by a funeral service at the funeral home, in a church, or other place of worship. The casket is typically present at both these events, and it is your decision on whether to have the casket open or not. You have the option of having the remains interred (earth burial), or it may be entombed in a crypt inside a mausoleum (above ground burial).
Giving a meaningful, moving eulogy can be a nerve-wracking situation for even the most accomplished public speaker, but it need not be. How can you summarize somebody's life in a few short minutes, while being both somber and funny at the same time? Writing and delivering a eulogy is a therapeutic tool to help deal with your grief, and being chosen to give a eulogy is an honor and should be treated that way.

I cannot say enough good words about Jim and the staff at Kedz. They were so very kind, caring and patient through the entire arrangements for my Father's passing. Jim's calming and comforting nature helped put us at ease during a very difficult time. Knowing we left my father's arrangements in good hands was a blessing during our loss. Jim waited patiently for us several times during the service and burial, and was there to help with any questions or anything we needed. I cannot thank Jim and the staff enough for their comforting support, during our family's loss.

I have used Kedz services twice now. While unfortunate, I couldn't have asked for a more professional and caring staff in my time of distress. They treated me better than family and walked me through every step. They made the process easy and never rushed me or my family. I will always use and recommended their services.

James, the Director and Owner of Kedz Funeral Home, was extremely pleasant and compassionate. At a time of extreme sadness he listened to our needs, and he delivered all of the family's wishes. Just had a funeral for my mom today, and wanted to commend them on their wonderful, professional service! Owner Jim was responsive, provided guidance and suggestions and provided my family with beautiful, individualized service. My mother looked very natural and peaceful. Prices were very competative.
