Yellow Car Country Wines

This place is absolutely wonderful!! The wines are so tasty. I had no idea that wines could taste like this. Refreshing and so full of flavor! Love love love Yellow Car Country Wines!! Go there! You will have the time of your life with friendly people and you will leave with fabulous tasting wine!

A lovely winery that serves unique fruit wines. The people were very friendly, the wine was delicious,and as a bonus the resident dog is adorable.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. The atmosphere was wonderful with a covered patio and lights in the evening. The host was so friendly it almost felt like we were spending the evening hanging out at a friends house vs a winery. The wine was delicious and the flights are wonderfly priced. We enjoyed our time talking amongst our group but also with Jim the owner/host and his wife. Before we knew it we had been there 30 minutes past close. When we apologized for losing track of time Jim brushed it off and said all he cared about is we were enjoying ourselves. If the wine sorbet is not

Great little place to stop and cool off. Stayed here overnight as part of the Harvest Hosts. Very welcoming hosts and nice covered patio area where we met other friendly guests and tasted some great fruit wines. Right off the main road but hard to see at first - look for the yellow roof and the word "CAR". A nice pleasant atmosphere with friendly hosts.

What a nice place to relax.
My brother and I and our wives spent a night camping in their parking lot through Harvest Host.
We had a wonderful time with some great people.
We enjoyed some great wine.
And there were other camper we got to know
Well worth it and relaxing.

Not many will liken wine to being something that heals the soul but it is the experience that brings people together to share wine that is the balm. I am so thankful for this place and this experience. Thank you for sharing your gift with the world. You are a blessing.

Not just another winery. Yellow Car’s fruit wines are super unique and really delicious! Jim, the owner, is really friendly and a delight to chat with, but be warned, he has a tendency to treat you like family after five minutes :) Seriously if you’re in Cortez go check this place out. We planned to stop in for half an hour and ended up staying for six.

This is a small winery with outdoor patio seating. It was 73° on the day we went with a hint of a breeze. They have a wide array of wines (see the menu) and we did three flights so tried 15 different wines and honey meads. They were all delightful but my husband and I each had our favorites. Your taste buds will tell you which ones you prefer, of course. Jim, our server and the owner, will keep you entertained with his stories! And Chloe, his dog, will greet you when you pull up (if you’re lucky). We snacked on pretzels that he provided, but we did notice that some people brought food with them

When my wife and I arrived in Cortez, we thought to try some wine tasting. We looked at all the choices locally and thought we would go here because of convenience and location. We are both super glad we did. If you are looking for traditional wines and stuffy tasting rooms, this might not be for you. I would still recommend trying them nonetheless. The fruit based wines they create are fun and adventurous. The owners are super friendly and Jim truly enjoys his passion to create wines that are not the normal vein. I will be returning here the next time I am in town.
