Asphalt Pavement is The First Choice for Driveways, Parking Lots & Roads Asphalt is strategically engineered and composed of about 95% stone, sand & gravel by weight and about 5% asphalt cement that act's like glue to hold the pavement together. It can be said that asphalt has been and still remains one of the major building blocks of our Nation.
Using a computerized distributor truck we apply a heavy of hot tar liquid a.c to the entire surface being chip sealed and cover it with a layer of washed Limestone chip rock and locked it into place with a large rubber tire pneumatic roller, this process is nothing new it has been around for many years virtually every asphalt roadway or highway built in America before 1930 was Tar & Chip and many secondary county roads are still paved using the Hot Tar & Chip Seal method it's more affordable, lasts a long time and requires less maintenance than an asphalt paved surface!
We ONLY use Commercial Grade Coal Tar Asphalt Sealer, and Hot Pour Rubberized Crack Filler. Our Coal tar sealer is never out of a bucket it's concentrated commercial grade, Our Rubberized crack filler is big blocks of rubber that requires a propane direct fire or hot oil-jacketed melter. The block of crack filler is heated until it turns to liquid in order to penetrate deep down into the larger cracks.
Q: How long will asphalt pavement last? A: Many years, when the project is done properly. Don't trust pavement to just any contractor. Know what you're getting (or aren't getting). It's reported that the portions of Interstate 90 in Washington State have been in place since their original construction more than 35 years ago with no rehabilitation for structural reasons.

Blacktop Ohio did a tar+chip job on my driveway. There was a delay in scheduling due to maintenance repairs and weather. But after a few hiccups they came out and they did a great job. Derrick was the site lead and was very professional and courteous. Mike checked with his crew several times on the two-day job and followed-up after to check the work.
Overall they did a superb job. I see delays and lags in communication across this entire industry so I won't hold it against them. Especially with how the world is right now. The important part is that the work was quality and my driveway

I called them a couple of weeks ago and the call was answered but the woman said she was busy so I should text her. I texted her right away and got a response the next day saying Mike would call to schedule an appointment. That was on a Thursday. After getting no call, I called the following week but no one answered the phone. Terrible terrible communication and very unprofessional. Btw, I still haven't heard back from them but I wouldn't hire them any way.

We built a new house and after weighing all the pros and cons on driveway options (gravel, asphalt, concrete), we finally decided on asphalt. We went with a local Marysville, Ohio company (Blacktop Ohio). Mike came out quickly, gave a professional estimate and seemed to be knowledgeable about the services, process and situation. He was very responsive through the quoting and decision process. He even called me back on a Sunday to help me go through the details. Unfortunately, that is where all the good parts of this review ends. After I agreed to hire them for the job (200' X 14' driveway
