Our family history in the bail bonding business begins with Dan Gibbs - Owner of City Bonding Company. Mr. Gibbs began his career in 1968 as a Recovery Agent employed by Johnson Bonding Company in Lexington, Ky. Mr. Gibbs and his family were transferred to Knoxville, Tennessee in the 1970's and he continued to work for Johnson Bonding until the death of Mr. Jimmy Johnson.
At that time Mr. Gibbs was encouraged by his peers to begin his own company and he and partner Gordon Cagle established Sevier County Bonding. In 1981 Mr. Gibbs made a decision to return to Knoxville when being offered a partnership with City Bonding Company, Inc.

The bonding lady was absolutely horrible!
She was rude and judging so I decided to go with another company. For some reason she had already put through paperwork to get him when I had signed nothing and had already paid the other lady. The jail forced me to use her because she had already given them the papers on my behalf that I did not agree to. I can't believe the unprofessionalism of both Citybonding and the Sevier County Jail!
