We are overjoyed, proud and humbled to be awarded the GOLD Certification from the Glass Recycling Coalition. We are the first MRF in Pennsylvania to achieve this status. Kudos to our staff for this amazing honor. The full press release can be found here. Are you a Centre County business, institution, organization or school that has an outstanding recycling, waste reduction or sustainability program?
Let us know what you are doing by completing our online Green Business Partnership Application. We are making it super easy for folks to recycle at upcoming football tailgate parties. Once you settle in at your tailgate spot, walk over to an A-Frame labeled for PSU Football Recycling. The A-Frames contain two colors of bags (blue bags for recycling plastic bottles, glass bottles and aluminum cans - and clear bags for trash).

Services
It is the mission of the Centre County Recycling & Refuse Authority to provide environmentally sound and economically efficient integrated waste management, reduction and recycling services; to work cooperatively with the private sector and to provide educational services with the intent of enhancing the quality of life in Centre County.
Take PA Rte 322 West to State College. Stay on Rte 322 bypass (also known as the Mount Nittany Expressway); do not get on Business 322. Get off at the Rte 26, College Avenue exit. Turn right onto PA Rte 26, North. Stay on Rte. 26. At the Nittany Mall, the road will come to a "Y". Take the right fork, which is still Rte.
Latex paint, when dry, may be disposed of in your regular trash. If you are simply overwhelmed with latex paint, the Authority's Transfer Station is allowed to accept up to 5 gallons of latex paint per person per day. There is a $20.00 minimum charge for this service. Please note that the Authority will not accept latex paint at our Household Hazardous Waste events.
Business and office recycling is mandatory in State College and Bellefonte Boroughs, the surrounding Townships in the Centre Region as well as Benner & Spring Townships. If you would like to set up a recycling program for your commercial business, school or institution, call us at 238-7005 for assistance.
Although we do not accept miscellaneous plastic containers curbside, we do provide six locations to recycle items such as: yogurt containers, margarine containers, strawberry/blueberry/lettuce containers, etc. If a container does not fit in the Miscellaneous Plastic drop off box, please do not leave the container outside of the box.
