In 2003 we relocated to M-57 as we were out growing our old building and needed a more convenient location. The new facility is much more functional and as always, provides the necessary space to keep all of our inventory clean and dry all year around. Since 1928 Carson City Lumber has been striving to be part of the community and not just a business in it.

We feel this has contributed to our success and will always keep that part of our business model. Our Mission: To sell building materials and home improvement products that give the consumer the best value and quality possible, while being environmentally responsible, ethical, and inviting to employees as well as customers.
Services
In 1927 Carson City Elevator Company closed a deal with Rockafellow Grain whereby they would take over Rockafellow's lumber business. For some time the Elevator Company had been contemplating adding lumber and the timing was right because Rockafellow was looking to get away from it.

Carson City Lumber and Elevator was incorporated in 1928 and continued both parts of the name until the late 1950's when the elevator was sold and lumber became the 'meat and potatoes'.Since that time the business has flourished, growing gradually and expanding product mix and sales territory under the careful direction of Gary Copp.
Unfortunately we can't show you online all of the different barns we are capable of estimating and supplying. The fact is, if you have an idea, we can help you design it on paper and develop an estimated material list. The sky is the limit when it comes to doors, windows, colors, materials, horse accessories and size!
Using design software and cabinetry from Wellborn Cabinets and Aristokraft, we can design and preview your kitchen (or bathroom) to show every detail you specify. Steve and Seana are our kitchen specialists and have almost 50 years of combined experience. Whether you are looking to remodel your old kitchen or planning it for your new house, we can help!
We have a team of salespeople and estimators that are able to quote your project exactly to your specifications. We want to get to know you and your project and that allows us to very accurately give you an estimate. We take each estimate very seriously and would rather it be tailored to your needs and not just a "ball park price".
If you haven't been to our store, or just aren't familiar with what we carry, here is a condensed list of the building materials on hand. We couldn't list all the special order products because we can get our hands on almost everything related to construction and home improvement. Call us today if you can't find what you are looking for!

I love coming here to Carson lumber. Staff is helpful and friendly. Milwaukee Tool supplier is always a plus in my book. Even helped me go through the process of warrantying a tool. Made the process a breeze. Thank you Carson Lumber!
Also the wood selection is better quality than the big box stores.

Love this store! The employees are so friendly and helpful. Mary helped us today and they even took a medicine cabinet off the walls for us. Their sales are great. I would rather spend my money in the community. Their prices are what you would pay anywhere excluding the drive you would have to go anywhere else! ☺️

Definately not myn favorite choice for a lumber yard or hardware supply. Sales staff want to stand behind a desk and look in a catalog. I have been in there 3-4 times and found them less then helpful and limited in what they stock other then lumber. As for the lumber ... it is a covered outdoor storage area with a guy there to help you get what you paid for inside. Pricing is 50%+ higher then the Big L lumber stores in the area which are 25% or more higher then the typical natioanl BUilding Supply chains.
THink I will go to drive further and save the money.
