Island Kids is a family owned business that was started in 1999 because we wanted to provide the local community with the highest level of care and education possible.
Other early childhood centers just don't compare to Island Kids! At Island Kids, we combine the positive aspects of new educational research and technologies with all of the tried and true, "good old-fashioned" aspects of traditional nursery schools of the past. You won't find any pre-printed curriculum developed at corporate headquarters here!
Our Infant programs are dedicated to providing you and your baby with the highest quality infant care around. Our number one priority is to provide your baby with a safe and healthy environment. Younger Babies follow their own individual schedules for meals, naps and playtime. Caregivers communicate daily with parents to insure that we are closely following babies typical home routine.
Toddlers (24-36 months) * some children may be placed in a toddler classroom between the ages of 18-24 months. Toddlers love to explore their environment and surroundings. They are in a constant state of motion, using all of their senses to learn about the world around them. Toddlers are also beginning to develop a sense of independence and like to try things on their own.
Preschoolers love to learn and are constantly absorbing information from their environment. Our preschool program focus on developmentally appropriate theme based learning in a nurturing atmosphere. There are many opportunities for hands on exploration that help introduce children to concepts such as math, science and reading.
