Services
With its humble beginnings as a house call practice in the mid 1980's, the Animal Clinic of Los Alamos has grown into a full-service veterinary hospital for dogs and cats. The state-of-the-art facility offers a safe and comfortable environment for you and your pet to visit. Our veterinarians, with over 120 years of experience, and dedicated staff provide the knowledge and experience required of today's veterinary hospitals.
We highly recommend the use of screening tests in healthy pets, both young and old. In addition to providing important baselines, screening tests allow us to diagnose diseases that would otherwise go undetected. Spurred by the advent of digital radiography, new understandings of old diseases are helping us alleviate and treat painful and problematic dental diseases that in the past were difficult to diagnose.
In order to maintain our high standard of service, we require that payment be made at the time services are rendered. We provide estimates for all surgeries and hospitalizations. If you have not received an estimate, you are welcome to request one at any time for your expected charges. Animal Clinic of Los Alamos is happy to accept Cash, Check, Major Credit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover), Scratchpay, and CareCredit.
We brought in our senior dogs to the clinic for a wellness exam. Our concerns about their health were of course reviewed. Diet was professionally discussed with zero shame and provided more education, which we're grateful for since our dogs eat raw food. Knowing that our clinic is another resource with solutions that support our lifestyle is invaluable.

Alleviating pain and promoting health are why we're here. The majority of patients with major dental diseases are elderly.

They helped us with a pet emergency when everyone else (including our long-term vet) refused to (covid-related business changes). Dr. Nuria is friendly, very professional, and continues to help us through a difficult situation with care and compassion. That matters!

ACLA is very responsive, professional, and friendly. I drive our pets there even though there are vet clinics closer to home because they are that good. I feel very comfortable taking our pets there and the vet takes the time to explain everything in detail which is greatly appreciated.

The clinic has been "okay" for regular visits with the exception of recommending medicines that were not MDR1 safe without letting us know after we explicitly told them our dog had a 50% chance of having MDR1. The terrible service occurred when our pup for very sick though. We called very early in the morning as soon as they opened and they refused to see him. Other vets keep some availability open for emergency visits, but they do not. They told us to go elsewhere. We had to drive to Santa Fe to see a vet who would take him. The veterinarians we saw in Santa Fe were shocked that his regular vet

This is the only clinic I've ever been to where the vets purr at my cats to comfort them. I was so impressed I immediately brought the rest of my pets here to make sure they get their annual exams and shots done. The staff are very friendly and patient with reactive animals, and do everything possible to make the experience as comfortable and positive as they can for both the pet and the human. I appreciate that they're a little more on the casual side when they explain things to me, it feels more like a knowledgeable friend telling or teaching me something. The cost here is reasonable for the

Paid $300 dollars to get blood and urinalysis for my car. We collected the blood initially and scheduled the urine collection for a later date. At the time was told I we could easily get the urine through a needle. When the time came they decided my cats bladder was too small and that was not a viable option. Additionally, based on the results from the blood work it wasn't necessary. No problem. I have a busy schedule and the other methods of urine collection werent viable for me at the time anyways. When asked if they could refund me for just the urine portion of what I had paid was just told
