First let's clarify what hypnosis is not. One does not lose consciousness or relinquish control when hypnotized. Instead, the hypnotic state is one of focused awareness and attention. Hypnosis is actually a state of mind that everyone frequently experiences. It often occurs when one is in a relaxed and focused frame of mind.
From her youth Cynthia was interested in how to achieve greater peace in her life and in the world. She began meditating when she was 18 and yearned for a community of like-minded people. In her early twenties she found this in a yoga ashram where she spent the next 25 years. In the ashram she focused on yoga meditation and on serving others through spiritual counseling.
Weight loss is something many people struggle with. It is a common issue that often brings to mind calorie counting, feeling deprived and hungry all the time, losing weight but gaining it back, and so forth. Yo-Yo dieting is a term that came about because people would often try different diets and fall into a cycle of losing and regaining weight.
I was blessed to have the opportunity to work with Cynthia to help conquer severe anxiety and fear associated with driving. I had long struggled with anxiety and panic, brought on by driving, but had managed it with medication. When I became pregnant and chose to stop taking SSRIs, I knew that I needed an alternative.
