Hornbeck & Associates Architects, P.C. was originally founded in 1988 by Lawrence Hornbeck in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan as Lawrence C. Hornbeck & Associates. In 1998, son Chris Hornbeck embraced his passion for architecture and joined the firm. With the mentorship of his father, Chris quickly became integral into all facets of the business.
In 2007, Chris began a 6 year tenure at URS Corporation (consistently ranked #1 Design Firm in the country by ENR) as a Project Manager/Architect. In 2013, as the firm celebrated the milestone of its 25th Anniversary, the firm re-organized as Hornbeck & Associates Architects, P.C. under the ownership and management of Chris Hornbeck.

Since 1988, we have specialized in custom residential design among experience in a distinctive range of project types. Our residential focus includes elegant single-family custom homes, beautiful multi-family condominiums, and well-integrated home renovations/additions.

From pre-design planning and consultation to administration of the construction phase - Design and Construction Documents are only part of what we do. Below is a brief summary of common services. Sketches are the first step in design.
Q: How soon can I/we meet with you? A: We can usually have our first meeting within a few days, if your schedule allows. Q: Is there a fee for the first meeting? A: No, there is not a charge if you chose not to proceed. If the project does go ahead, the meeting fee would be charged at our normal hourly rate.
