In 1967, Tootsie Taxi was founded by Martin Laschever, servicing the Stony Brook, New York area which included the brand new State University of New York (SUNY) campus. Tootsie Taxi grew to become a respectable sized taxi company. Around the same time, airline travel in the United States was growing.
No place else was that more evident than in the New York Metro area. JFK and LaGuardia airports were booming. In the early 1970's more and more customers were asking Mr Laschever for service to the airports. Late 1972, Mr Laschever took a leap of faith and sold Tootsie Taxi to start his new business.

So like many others one here we did NOT have a good experience with this company from the representative that was unaccommodating and to the drive that almost side swiped three other vehicles. For 6 adults traveling internationally with 6 big suits cases and a luggage we were in a navigator. Two suit cases in the front seat that impaired the drives view (hence the three close calls) with all of our Carry one at our fee. I had ten employees and two of their spouses staying at the Long Island Marriot on long term assignments. When their stay was over I looked for a shuttle service to pick them up there and take them to JFK in time for a 6:00AM flight. I was concerned because I would not be there to ensure that the pickup was made and that we could do an alternate method to get to the airport if necessary. If there was a minus star , I would choose that. In February, my husband and I traveled from our home in Medford to Islip Mac Arthur Airport. Upon return on Feb 18 2020, our pick up was set for 10:50 pm. No one showed up!! Said their car had a dead battery!!

I was ready to be picked up at 5:07 and didn't get picked up until 6:30. Then went to a food court for another half an hour waiting for another passenger. Driver got a call that he had to go to LaGuardia I was at JFK to get someone else. It took me 3 1/2 hours to get home almost as long as my flight. Don't mind sharing a ride but not waiting 1 1/2 hours to first get picked up and then waiting at a food court and then a different airport. This totally ended my vacation terribly. I realized on my way to work on Christmas Eve my Sedans front passenger side tire was completely flat by the time I reached my new delivery job that I started 3 days ago in Medford. I was Blessed to find Steve of Winston Airport Shuttle (Transportation) in less than a few minutes. Just in time I noticed he pulled into the parking lot and he professionally replaced my tire in less than a half hour. Because of his kind heartedness, I was able to go back to work within that same hour. I will forever remember that morning the day before Christmas. Company deserves negative stars. Had an experience like many others on here. Driver was nearly 2 hours late picking up from JFK then went to LaGuardia and waited another hour and a half for another passenger, ( did I mention it was supposed to be a private booking?) then went back to JFK to pickup another passenger. I could have walked home quicker. Called dispatcher who yelled at me and told me to get out of his vehicle while we were driving down Belt Pkwy.
This place is the worst! Well never use them again and I advise no one else use them either.

Had a reservation for family to be picked up at the airport when flight arrives. I call after getting luggage and am told the van scheduled to pick us up broke down so they need to send a new one. Am told by the dispatcher that it broke down some 3 hours earlier and a new car is on its way from over an hour away. Lets count the bad customer service. 1. no one called me. 2. they didn't bother to send a replacement car until I called, knowing it broke down 3 hours earlier. 3. I asked and was told there are no other vans available which is obviously BS since I was at JFK and they are an airport transportation

Be aware of a few things when booking. They don't stick to their own marketing policies and flat out lie to you. Did you know that if you call to be picked up at LGA they will tell you 30 min. even though the driver is way out in Suffolk County, then each half hour they keep telling you he will be there soon. So after an hour and half after you get your bags you are excited when he finally arrives and are looking forward to heading home to the Babylon area, only to find out once your in the car that they have to make a "quick stop" at JFK!!!!!!! I had a reservation with Winston Airport Car service to pick me up at LaGuardia airport on 8/14/19. Upon arriving I followed their instructions and called them after claiming my luggage.I was told to go out to pick up area 9 and look for a lady in a wheelchair who would be in the same car driving to Long Island. I paid for private car svs to/from airport in advance of my trip. My 1st driver was initially nice, but then proceeded to share his unbearable political views (completely unprompted) which made me feel uncomfortable. Upon landing, after I returned from my trip, I was informed that they were short staffed and we would be forcibly downgraded to a shared ride. Winston phoned 2 minutes after scheduled pickup time and cancelled my ride from my home to LaGuardia airport. They said the driver called in sick. Surprisingly they did not know this until AFTER the time I was supposed to be picked up. When I inquired as to what I was supposed to do the response was, "I don't know". Wait time at the airport curb was 45 minutes. Driver offers to shake your hand, then immediately uses Hand Sanitizer jell to make sure he doesn't get sick from you ! that is insulting (I suggest he uses the jell before hand shake). From hotel to airport - they want you to sit in the car for 2 hours to go to pick other passengers up, I canceled the service and they don't give me back the money (form my hotel to the airport by was only 35 minutes drive by taxi)

My wife and I reserved a shared sedan and were scheduled to be picked up at 6:45 PM at JFK. We had our luggage and were ready for pick up at 6:56 PM. Our reservation stated that we would be picked up in 10 to 20 minutes after we had our luggage. We just waited an hour at the airport for our car to pick us up. After a long day of traveling and delayed flights the last thing you want to do is wait in passenger pick up unsure of how close the car is. I wish I had researched this company before booking with them. I'd give them ZERO stars if I could. When we arrived in Newark, we waited almost 45 minutes at the curb to be picked up. I called three times and their dispatch assured me the driver was 5 minutes away. The driver blamed their dispatch and their dispatch blamed the driver. If you are a business traveler who might run into a change in plans - do not use this company. There is a 12 hour cancellation policy and as we all know sometimes we do not have that luxury. I did try to use the on line cancellation which would have been within 12 hours but got an ERR message. Called at 8:15 AM (pick up time was 3:15 PM) and advised needed to speak to someone else. They have never let us down!!!! They have been prompt picking us up from the crowded Manhattan Pier and ape Liberty Piers. Run don't walk from Winston Limo. Took their Limo with 2 other couples to attend a wedding. Limo arrived with no air conditioning . I immediately called office and dispatcher said it was a Saturday and I would have to call back on Monday and speak to Joann. nothing could be done about this that day. When I did call on Monday and spoke to Joann she would investigate the matter. Got a follow up call where she said things break down and it is unforeseen. She said on our return it was cooler and air conditioning wasn't necessary. That was her opinion.

Ugh, too bad you can't leave zero stars. DO NOT EVER GIVE WINSTON TRANSPORTATION OF MEDFORD, NY A DIME OF YOUR MONEY. Bar none the worst company I have ever attempted to do business with. I had to make a last minute booking from my home in Huntington to La Guardia Airport.
