Six years ago, a fan of my first wood-art project liked my work so much that he offered me a workspace in a warehouse in the Bayview, and I've been working there ever since.
Initially focusing on designing and making outdoor projects like garden boxes and outdoor furniture, I have since developed a line of decor items made out of reclaimed wood (much of which is salvaged from the streets and backyards of San Francisco) and custom interior furniture.I'm always excited to find creative solutions to the unique problems encountered in old San Francisco homes and backyards.

Everything about working with Andrew has been a pleasure. He's easy to reach on email. He comes by to check out the space so he can build exactly what you need. He doesn't pressure in any way and is open to playing with different woods and styles to keep prices down. Andrew made four redwood raised beds for us to use in the garden. They are both beautiful and functional. They were too large to bring through our doors, so Andrew delivered and finished the construction in our yard. At a party recently we had numerous compliments and inquiries as to who built them. We found Andrew here on Yelp, and are super pleased with his work. He made, finished, and installed two countertops for our new cabinets, and they look great. He's responsive, nice to work with, and his price was very fair. He found just the right wood to match our room, too. We will be contacting him again for other projects. My wife found Andrew on Craigslist and asked him to make a 6'X3' picnic table with benches for our patio. We werent sure what to expect, but the following are key takeaways why we gave Andrew 5 stars:
(1.) Responsive - Andrew quickly responded to our E-mail with questions about the table, payment and delivery (same day response).
(2.) Affordable - the same picnic table at a retailer costed double of what Andrew charged. Andrews picnic table is made of real redwood and is weather proofed.
(3.) High Quality - the table came out looking even better than the photos we saw. The wood is fresh

Andrew built three large planters for our backyard and we couldn't be happier with the results! In addition to the beautiful work he did, he's a genuinely nice person and was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the process. He was always right on time, super flexible and was willing to work with us on the design until we were completely satisfied with it (and was extraordinarily patient when I changed my mind a couple of times!). He was always responsive to texts, e-mails. etc. and worked diligently to complete the project by our deadline.

Andrew recently made a custom bookshelf for a home psychotherapy office. He was super easy to coordinate with, the finished product came out beautifully and his prices are reasonable. Not to mention he offered to drop it off once it was done! Couldn't have been more pleased with the whole thing--if only everything in life was so simple, functional and beautiful!

Our preschool recently hired Andrew for a few projects in the outdoor space. Andrew was an absolute delight to work with - responsive, punctual, resourceful and talented. He took a simple sketch of a climbing structure that one of the teachers designed and made it a reality, thinking through even the tiniest details of how building it would impact the children's experience. Andrew is a really great guy and a talented woodworker. My wife and I visited him and like a table that he had recently made. We had specific ideas for a coffee table and a media console as a result of seeing his work. We just sent him some pictures and dimensions which were enough for him to get going. The end products were fantastic.

We came to Andrew with a table that was broken and like a true consultant, he walked us through our options and was very helpful. Ultimately, we decided the best option was for him to build us a brand new custom table. We are very happy w/the craftsmanship and his ability to match the color so closely to our chairs. It's always nice when the project turns out much better than you expected. That was the case with the recent planter box that Andrew completed at our house. If I would have know that it would have looked so good, I probably would have been motivated to do this 7 years ago when I first moved into this place. He's very easy to work with and I'd highly recommend him to other clients.

I don't know what I was expecting, but I certainly wasn't expecting something that I enjoyed looking at. I just needed a ladder to get me and my pooch into my loft. The 85-degree angle just wasn't working for me. Andrew built and installed a beautiful, solid ladder with clean lines and clear craftsmanship. Aside from being incredibly easy to work with, he went above and beyond--on time and within my budget. He's already onto the next project! I highly recommend him for any and all custom woodworking projects.

I highly recommend Andrew. He just finished a very large set of redwood planters (two 14' lengths and a 25' length) that included integrated storage benches and pergolas. It was a big project and he gave us a bid before we'd entirely finished designing it which he honored despite some minor tweaks here or there. I had gotten one other bid from someone I had worked with before. Andrew substantially underbid the competitor and was a lot easier to deal with. In addition to being an easy going guy and pleasant person to be around, there was clear in person, phone and email communication

Andrew made four 7' impressive custom planters elevated to equal height along an inclining sidewalk. Every aspect of the work was executed with precision. To save money and redwoods's from needless destruction, he meticulously lined each of the Douglas Fir planters. He assessed the job in person. Communicated well and as promised. His pricing was fair. I'd use him again without reservation. In fact I am as I've engaged him to craft two more 7' planters to continue the run up the sidewalk. What a find!

I saw Andrew's ad on Craigslist about two years ago, when I was looking for used planter boxes for our backyard. I met Andrew by coincidence if there really is such a thing, at builders resource. I was looking for material to make a planter with. After talking to him I decided to hire him to do it for me and I am glad I did.
He turned around the project for me in the amount of time we discussed, and exceeded my expectations on the quality of the work he did. I will certainly be calling on his services in the future.
I really appreciate the fact that he goes out and personally selects re-usable wood and reclaims it from the waste stream. If you are looking for this kind of work I would recommend Andrew
