Co-Owners, Laura Severino Sinagra and Erin Valaskatgis, have been in the hair and makeup industry for over 10 years. When they met and started working together in 2009, they instantly connected as they both shared the same passion for the beauty industry. Laura, a graduate from Elizabeth Grady School of Esthetics, and Erin, a graduate of North Shore Community College for Cosmetology, have over 20 years of experience in this field.
In 2016, after years of working in the same salons & spas, Laura and Erin decided to join forces and begin their work as The Artists Hair & Makeup. I'm Laura Severino, co-owner of The Artists Hair + Makeup. After many years in the healthcare field, I decided to make a career change for something that I truly love. I'm passionate about the beauty industry, not because of vanity, but because I love helping others feel confident and amazing! I graduated from the Elizabeth Grady school of Esthetics in 2010, and I have over 10 years experience in this field.
A classic day deserves a classic bridal look that will be remembered for a lifetime. Enhancing your natural beauty with a soft and timeless look is our ultimate goal. By using airbrush makeup and top of the line professional products, your look will last all day no matter how many tears of joy may come.
Erin, Laura and their team did an amazing job with hair and makeup for myself, 9 bridesmaids and my mother. It was the hottest day of the year, yet the hair and makeup stayed put all day/night. They were super easy to work with and wanted to make sure we were happy. When my mom was initially not thrilled with her hair, Erin and Laura made sure to fix it and make her feel beautiful.
We try to be very flexible and work with your schedule. We recommend scheduling your trial 8-12 weeks before your wedding date. Please be aware that we do not schedule trials on weekends between the months of May-October. You will feel like a Kardashian while your hair and makeup trials are performed simultaneously.

I am SO happy I found The Artists for my wedding at the Beauport Hotel and I am so excited to write a positive review for them. Laura and Erin were incredible during the planning process and with creating the schedule for the morning of my wedding. I was so happy to find a team that did both makeup and hair, and they were able to accommodate my 13 person wedding party and keep us on schedule. Everyone looked beautiful but also like themselves. I could not be happier with my experience choosing The Artists for my wedding hair and makeup. Erin and Laura are absolutely amazing! To start, I had to postpone my 2020 wedding and they were more than accommodating making a stressful situation nothing but positive and easy. When I went for my trial, they were so patient and easygoing as I changed around what I wanted. You are in excellent hands when using The Artists for hair and makeup on your wedding. They were both so accommodating and professional, even when I completely changed the style I had initially trialed to what I wanted on my wedding day — and it was executed perfectly! The Artists are amazing! Amidst COVID, my wedding plans changed drastically. The Artists were able to transfer my deposit and allowed me to postpone my wedding date services not once, but twice!!! Erin and Laura are absolute dolls and were so professional, yet super fun to work with. My wedding was small due to Covid, but I felt like the bride I always dreamed of! My hair and makeup was exactly what I wanted ❤️❤️ I highly recommend you go with them for your wedding!

Erin & Laura are phenomenal! During my trial appointment, I knew I was in good hands. They truly listen to what you want and then exceed your expectations. They did hair & makeup for myself, my mom & my 4 bridesmaids at our wedding venue. Our hair & makeup lasted all night long, even into the wee hours of the morning! They were so prompt & organized, we even finished a bit before our scheduled time was up. Plus they are SO fun & engaging, we had a blast having our hair & makeup done by them! I would absolutely recommend them!

My bridesmaids, mom, and I had an amazing time getting our hair and makeup done by Erin and Laura at their studio in downtown Gloucester. We set up snacks and drinks and they even bought us a box of munchkins to welcome us. Our hair and makeup turned out really well and lasted all day and night! We looked like movie stars! Erin and Laura are both really friendly and extremely talented, and their prices are very reasonable! If you need to look your best for a formal event, look no further. You won't regret it!!
