The AVMA defines core vaccinations as those that protect from diseases that are endemic to a region, those with potential public health significance, required by law, virulent/highly infectious, and/or those posing a risk of severe disease. Core vaccines have clearly demonstrated efficacy and safety, and thus exhibit a high enough level of patient benefit and low enough level of risk to justify their use in the majority of patients.
Using the latest diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative techniques we can help your equine athletes reach and maintain their full potential. After a musculoskeletal exam and consultation with one of our doctors we can tailor a treatment plan to meet your horse's specific needs. Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy, or ESWT, is a non-invasive, high-intensity, pressure wave regenerative medicine treatment.
Digital radiography provides high quality images that can be burned to CD, emailed, or sent to a radiologist for review. In addition to images of the extremities we offer dental, sinus, and cervical/spinal imaging as well. Ultrasound provides videos and images of soft tissue structures that can be burned to a CD and sent to a specialist for review.
Purchasing a horse is a big undertaking, be sure to protect your new investment by having our skilled veterinarians examine the horse prior to your purchase.
These examinations, called Pre-Purchase Exams (or PPE) involve a thorough physical examination of the horse's body including: the eyes, ears, teeth, body condition score, integument (skin conditions, scars, etc.), respiratory system, cardiovascular system, gastrointestinal system, and musculoskeletal system.

Many malocclusions, such as hooks, crooked or displaced teeth, stepped teeth, diseased or fractured teeth, periodontal disease, and other dental abnormalities can cause severe pain. It is not uncommon for horses to be in chronic pain for years without the owner being aware of the situation. Sharp enamel edges on the teeth can lacerate the sensitive soft tissues of the mouth.
