AST Environmental, Inc. is a multi-disciplinary environmental remediation and contracting company. Our primary purpose is to provide environmental solutions in an effective, timely, safe, and cost-efficient manner. In other words, AST will work diligently to complete projects on time, within budget, without incident, while achieving the established remedial goals for a particular site.

AST has an impeccable safety record that is the result of our commitment to a safe workplace. Our safety record can be observed using common third-party safety screening services (BROWZ, Avetta, ISNetworld). Over 900 feet of trench backfilled with a mixture of BOS 100 and sand was completed in 8 days by the AST Environmental Construction Group.
Services
In 1993, Applied Science and Technology Inc., abbreviated shortly after to AST Environmental, Inc., was founded by Bob Welsh. Since then, like-minded civil and environmental professionals have come together with a common vision: safely provide industry leading solutions and expertise to the environmental consulting community.
To keep our environmental industry clients and colleagues informed of recent and recognized developments in environmental remediation technologies and techniques, AST employs several methods of providing technology transfer that we feel are relevant, flexible, and important to our clientele.

From live webinars to in-person presentations to on-demand training, our goal is to connect you with our experienced senior staff in a technical learning format that provides the proper assistance, collaboration, and efficient use of your time.
In the early 2000s, driven by the environmental marketplace, AST began injecting amendments on a small scale to address petroleum and chlorinated impacts in saturated soil and groundwater. In 2005, we took it to the next level, upgrading one of our mixing and injection systems to install 200,000 lbs of micro-scale ZVI and 30,000 gallons of an organic electron donor to address chlorinated solvent groundwater impacts.
It combines high-capacity pumping and a custom set of straddle packers to isolate discrete geologic features and contaminant mass. The custom straddle packer's features include unconfined inflation pressures up to 2,250 psi, independent control of the upper and lower packers, and targeted injection intervals as narrow as 18 inches.
The implementation methods vary with lithology, depth of impact(s), and reagents to be injected. AST has developed and continues to refine our tooling and injection procedures to ensure effective reagent distribution regardless of the depth or nature of the lithology. Our surgical injection plans are developed from the Quantitative High Resolution Conceptual Site Model using from the Remedial Design Characterization process.
