Motel 101

It's clean and the price is great but there's no one there to check you in when you arrive, even during the posted office hours. You have to call numbers posted on the door and it took us awhile to get an answer. You then later, when someone shows up at the office, have to go fillout paperwork which is disruptive.

ZERO STARS. Just awful. Avoid. I don't know where to start but here goes. Paper thin walls. Uncomfortable beds. The carpet was DISGUSTING. We refused to walk without our shoes on. No coffee machine. No hairdryer. Inadequate toiletries. Just gross and beat up overall. A sticky gross feeling kept me up all night, as did snoring from our neighbor. Barely slept. Would have been better off driving through the night and saving our money. Overpriced. Almost 200 a night are you kidding me? worst money ever spent. Take my advice and do not stay here. Anything over one star must be a fake review. You

Came into town last minute. Only place within 100 miles that had 1 room available. Pleasantly surprised with the staff, quality, rooms, cleaniness. The owner was extremely nice. Will stay again if ever in the area again.

Nice place. The gentleman behind the counter was the owner and he was so nice we talked for about an hour. I felt like I knew him. I would stay there for sure.

Not fancy but EXTREMELY CLEAN!!!!!!!!!! Even the baseboards in the bathroom are dust free! Old School motel They wash the bedspreads every visit too! Definitely 5 stars but deserves 6!
Also HALF the cost of every place else in town. Proud Family owned, they do all the work themselves!

The rooms were very nice and the price is great, especially for the super convenient location of the motel. We accidentally locked ourselves out of the motel after hours and the motel owner came by and unlocked it for us. We could hear that he was at dinner too when we called. It was very nice of him.

I have stayed at this motel for almost 3 months. I'm a travel nurse, so the owner gave me a really great monthly rate. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The owner is great. He tries to meet the needs of his guests. He is very protective of his property and his guests. Mr Patel has made me feel very welcome and safe. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to guests in Gold Beach. The ocean is right across the street!

Stellar service, location, and pricing. I only stay here when I visit Gold Beach, and I have never been disappointed. I was ALMOST upset this last time, though, when I found the rooms heater was not working. The owner came in and reset it and although it turned on, it only stayed on a for a few minutes after he left. We went and got him again, and he discovered that the exterior plate had been put on upside down, preventing the heat from escaping and thus overheating the unit. 30 seconds and it was fixed, and we were nice and cozy. We arrived at 9pm to check the rates. He had a note on the door to call his number since he was running errands. My boyfriend and I tried calling the number a few times but the call wouldn't go through. We waiting in the parking lot in case he came back as we searched and called other hotels and decided on a place to eat dinner (it had been a long day). He showed up around 9:30, we asked our questions, then told him we were going to think about it as we grab dinner. This is definitely a budget motel, but there was lots of hot water, good water pressure and the room was clean. The guy at the front desk was super nice. We didn't check in until 8 pm and he let us know that all the restaurants closed at 9, if we wanted dinner. I would go back and stay here again.

Motel 101 was only 105$ a night so the price was great. They were polite when we checked in so that was great. However, there appeared to be blood stains on two of the pillowcases and the room smelt stale. I wish it ended there, the beds were uncomfortable and the walls were so thin that I could hear the people next doors conversation and then! the guy was a snored!!!!!! Holy hell I did not get any sleep. I know it's hard to fix the thin wall issue. Unfortunately for me I will not stay here again because I need to sleep!

This is a motel that I would stay at again. It's a great place to spend a night. It isn't super pricey and is pretty good. The room doesn't have a.c. and there's no breakfast or anything like that, but the shower is really great, the room is comfortable, and everything is clean. Definately a worth while place.

Simple room with no frills, but it was very clean. Everything was in good repair. Updated TV, micro and refrig. Wi-Fi worked well, sometimes was a bit slow. Owners are friendly and helpful. Some highway noise.

I enjoyed my stay here! Cheap room, bare necessities provided, room had a microwave, fridge, and television. What more can you ask for? I feel like the people who gave this place a bad rating were expecting to stay at the Hilton... the guy at the desk was really sweet, made check-in super easy. Check out just consisted of dropping the room key in a box located outside the lobby. This place made my stay in Gold Beach very smooth. If you are planning on staying here, definitely check out La Casa de Oro. It's a Mexican restaurant with the best horchata I have had so far.

Fantastic, especially at the price. Nice, Pergo wood floor in the main room with tiles in the bathroom, new bed, smallish but perfectly serviceable flat screen tv, free wifi, microwave and refrigerator. All the necessities and more amenities than I expected . . . and *clean!* The gentleman who checked me in was pleasant, friendly, and went out of his way to be helpful. All in all, this may be the best motel experience I've ever had. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

We paid $85 a night for a king size bed on a weeknight in July. If we'd paid $41 for the room, like I see people were paying a year ago, then I'd rate this higher than one star. But it's totally not worth 85 a night.

Thin walls allow all sounds to come in, road, conversations, etc, be careful what you say

Very nice owners, great price, great location along the 101. Huge room, very nicely outfitted, except for the old bathroom mirror (spotty). Wifi included, no continental breakfast. The main reason for deducting a star is the traffic noise. I was actually ten rooms back from the street and it sounded like I was right up against it. My noise machine couldn't even cancel it out. But if that doesn't bother you, this is your place!

After a 1 night stay, I extended to a week. Owner gave me a nice discount! The owner called over to the the 76 station, and my beer was comped! He even let me wash my car, after he got done with his! Small free library of paperbacks in the lobby, read a Travis McGee novel while catching the sun on the patio. I had a 2nd floor room with a view of the ocean...I love Gold Beach! Traffic noise is to be expected, the closer you are to 101. Didn't bother me much. Get a room towards the back if noise is a concern. Wi-Fi worked pretty good. For the price I think the 101 is great deal!

I did pay for a budget room, which is fine. I get that means no frills. But there were no disposable cups in my room, no Kleenex and a measly 6 or so squares of toiletpaper with no extra roll. Not cool.
On the good side of things, room was large. My room was very clean and the deskperson was very nice. Won't be back though. The lack of basics was a little upsetting.

Owner pleasant, room relatively clean for a cheap old motel. The walls are paper thin and so NO sleep as others played all night and the sounds reverberated through the walls. Road noise as its right on the Highway added third dimension to the awful racket. We were told the breakfast was just coffee and instant oatmeal but we gave up at 5am and left after a sleepless night!

This place was AWESOME! It was actually our favorite motel that we stayed in on our whole trip up the coast. I chose this motel because it was the cheapest motel in Gold Beach so originally I didn't know what to expect, boy were we surprised! The rooms were super clean, had nice showers, nice beds, large flat screen TV's, and microwaves and refridgerators.

There is a nice area to sit outside by the soda and ice machines and there is a nice room they have set up with coffee, tea, and danishes in the morning. The motel is right across the street from the beach and it is close to everything

We ran over a screw while driving down the Oregon Coast during Spring break. A quick glance at Yelp directed us to this motel. We had an excellent stay.

The room total was $41 (with taxes and our dog!). The room was clean, the linens comfortable, and the proprietor very friendly and helpful. It is a basic motel, so expect road noise and and basic amenities, but dollar for dollar this place is great.

Stayed here on a whim while driving up the coast. We fell in love with Gold Beach and wanted to spend the night so we combed the Internet and found this place. It was cheap -- $39 -- and we figured a place to stay in a strange place is a gamble anyway, may as well go cheap.

We held our breath on the way there, hoping we hadn't just booked a really scuzzy room. When we arrived, Terry checked us in and said he'd upgraded us to a better King sized room for an extra $6. He was really sweet so we paid it and checked in.
