Greater Dayton Surgery Center
The Dayton area's only free standing ambulatory surgery center offering outpatient joint replacement and minimally invasive spine surgery. Established in 2006 as a multi-physician, multi-disciplinary outpatient facility, we at Greater Dayton Surgery Center have refined and refocused our practice on orthopaedics exclusively.

Why this singular focus? By dedicating our staff and facility to only orthopaedics, we can offer you greater efficiency, a better quality of care, more highly skilled personnel, and a lower rate of complications and infections than you find in a general operating theater. Part of the Kettering Health System, we are accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc.
Services
Greater Dayton Surgery Center is fortunate to have some of the area's finest orthopaedic surgeons on staff to care for your orthopaedic condition. They are all fellowship-trained and are certified by at least one specialty board. Many hold memberships in multiple professional medical associations, seeking to continually advance their knowledge and skills.
Please take a few moments to review the comprehensive information we have gathered here as you prepare for surgery. Prior to your surgery, please register for your procedure through this website. If your questions have not been answered to your satisfaction, please do not hesitate to call us 937.535.2200.
We are a same-day outpatient facility. This means that our patients go home the same day as surgery, once you are comfortable and ready to go home. In the unusual event that a complication should arise that requires an overnight stay, we have close working relationships with local area hospitals. By requesting a consultation, your information will be giving to one of our world class surgeons.
Greater Dayton Surgery Center is the only ASC in the Greater Dayton area offering outpatient joint replacement and spine surgery. With Cincinnati less than an hour to the south and Columbus 70 minutes to the east, Dayton is conveniently positioned to serve the residents of central and southwest Ohio.
Every visit to a big hospital environment puts you at risk for exposure to infections, illnesses, and diseases. Why take that risk when you're not sick yourself? You have an orthopaedic condition that needs to be treated, a musculoskeletal problem that needs to be remedied, or perhaps you need a total joint replacement.

I've had several surgeries here and simply cannot say enough good things about them. Every one there is super nice, polite and very professional.
I would recommend this surgical center for any surgery you need to have done. And their cheaper than a hospital too.

I read the reviews before I scheduled my surgery by Dr. Nitz at this facility. I was careful to get the price for the surgery ahead of time, and even paid half of the quoted price down before my procedure. A couple of weeks later I got a bill for almost double was was quoted. Turns out the surgery that took less than an hour cost $17,000, just from the facility, nevermind what the Dr. charged, and I was never informed of this price before the surgery. Scandalous.

Very professional from beginning to end. The center was very clean and well organized the Nurses and ansthesia staff were kind and answered all my Questions thoroughly. One Nurse in particular took excellent care of me (Nicole). I had Lumber decompression Surgery with rod placement. My Surgeon was Dr. Jeffrey Hoskins and I feel he did an excellent job. I am awaiting my first follow up appointment but would highly recommend him for any spinal surgery. My only complaint is with the cost. My insurance had precertified the surgery weeks earlier and everything was in place. A few days before the surgery

This was my second procedure at the Greater Dayton Surgery Center and each time I was equally impressed with their professional demeanor, cleanliness of the facility and high quality of care both times. From nursing staff to surgeons and intake personnel and phone support. I understand people are concerned with cost of procedures. Because this facility is run independently by the the doctors themselves there is probably little comparison to what these costs would be in a traditional hospital setting. This fact is also the reason I believe too that the service is so exceptional. Courtney, Leslie

Nice but extremely expensive. Since insurance doesn't cover100%, this leaves patients with thousands of dollars to pay. They need cost control. Half an hour surgery should not cost $15,000! (This is without doctor fees. )

Plan on getting big bills after your dealings with this place. My son had his tonsils removed and I received a bill later for fifteen hundred dollars unexpectedly. I have more bills from other medical facilities that put this one on back burner so then I got papers that they're taking me to court for garnishment proceedings. Good times!

Let me start by saying this is a top-notch surgery facility, for older kids and adults. It is NOT set up well for babies and small children. We set up a surgery for our 2 year old to have ear tubes put in. His previous surgeries have been at Dayton Children's hospital. Unlike Dayton Children's, we had to wait in the lobby for over an hour till it was time to go back (we were told to show up that early). Unfortunately, the lobby is not a great place for small kids. No toys, books, etc. I had brought a few small toys for my son, and I guess I was expecting a play area for small kids. There is a fish
