The Stone Studio, in business since 2006, offers local residents access to an expansive selection of natural stone, including a variety of marble, quartzite, and soapstone--our specialty.

Services
Located in Southeastern Indiana between Cincinnati, Ohio & Indianapolis, Indiana, we serve the entire tri-state area (Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky) traveling up to three hours from our shop. We work with cabinet-makers, builders, designers, contractors, or most frequently, directly with the homeowner himself to provide the customer with a personal and memorable experience.
Natural stone is time-tested, repairable, and performs well under all kinds of conditions. It makes sense that fabricators would be less enthusiastic about a material with a warranty that is void when it comes in contact with high temperatures, when it is exposed to sunlight from a window, or when spills are not wiped up quickly enough.
There are several ways to receive an estimate. One is to email a drawing of your layout including dimensions, location & type of cutouts, finished edges, and any other important information about your project. We strongly recommend that you hand pick your stone by viewing full size slabs, rather than small samples.
A year or so ago, I watched this Martha Stewart episode on soapstone countertops and knew then I had to have one. I researched every company in and around Indianapolis. Only two could answer my questions (and confirm what I had already found out) about soapstone. And, they were so nice over the phone.
A lesser-known, equally beautiful option for your stone countertop is soapstone. From subtle to striking, a variety of patterns and textures can be found in the different types of soapstone available. Usually found in deep colors ranging from shades of green to gray or black, most varieties of soapstone naturally darken with age.

I'm really delighted with my choice to have new vanity countertops made and installed by The Stone Studio. What I thought would be ordinary turned into an art project for me and my remodeled bathrooms are lovely thanks to the unique stone and my pleasant experience. Will be back for more once I'm ready for my kitchen remodel. Thanks!

It was time to get new countertops for our kitchen in Cincinnati and we knew exactly who we were going to use, the same company that our son used at his home and restaurants: the Stone studio!
We went to the showroom, ( lovely drive, by the way) picked out our soapstone and a short time later countertops were expertly installed. The crew was great, and ever so careful. The installation went seamlessly and looks gorgeous! We highly recommend them! Thank you Angie and Sebastian! It was a pleasure doing business with the Stone Studio.

We used Stone Studio last year on a large kitchen project. They were amazing and we were 100% satisfied. We came back for another Master Bath project, to work with Stone Studio. They were under new ownership (Sebastian/Angie). They did a beautiful job with the same craftsmanship, speed, organization, and end results. We were sad to see Marlene/Pete retire, but they left the business in excellent hands and you'll receive the same quality that Stone Studio boasts in all their other reviews. Plus, they're extremely pleasant people. Thanks for a wonderful job!!

Great company to use. We utilized them for our kitchen remodel for our island and wall counter tops in Louisville. We had several cuts that needed made and everything came out perfect. Pete & Marlene, the owners, are super people to deal with. We were also able to look at several different types of black soapstone before deciding on which style we wanted. I highly recommend them for any counter top work and will definitely use them for future projects.
