New Tech Network (NTN) began in the mid-90s in Napa, California. The local schools were meeting education standards, and the community thought of Napa High School as a good school. However, local business leaders remained concerned that meeting basic standards would not be enough to ensure that students were graduating with the skills needed to meet the needs of the new economy.
Putnam EDGE High School is a free public charter school govern Edge for Educational Excellence, Inc. Edge for Educational Excellence, Inc. (EDGE Foundation) was founded by the Putnam County School District (PCSD) in 1985 to support education and programs that recognize student achievement. The Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization.
Pat recently retired as the Administrator of Palatka Health Care Center, a skilled nursing center in Palatka, Florida to help jumpstart efforts to bring the first New Tech Network High School to Florida through the EDGE Foundation, a non-profit organization.

Putnam EDGE High School, Tuition Free Charter school, is now accepting registration for the 2020- 2021 school year. Applicants will be accepted and enrolled if the number of applicants is less than or equal to the number of available slots, after which the students will be placed in a lottery. Putnam EDGE has a rigorous STEM curriculum that will prepare students for college or vocational training after high school. The school will work closely with business partners on projects to provide a real-world experience to explore career opportunities of interest. Any student eligible to attend public schools are eligible to attend Putnam EDGE High School.
