As a Direct Primary Care practice we do not use health insurance to pay for office visit fees, instead office visit fees are paid directly to the doctor's office to cover office visits.
We believe that using health insurance to pay for a medical office visit is like using car insurance to pay for an oil change. By using health insurance for what it was intended (high cost expenses such as hospital stays and surgical procedures), we are able to charge affordable prices for an office visit.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. We are excited to be on the forefront of the Direct Primary Care movement. Like many other DPC physicians, I became frustrated with the current healthcare system. The pressure to see a lot of patients in a short period of time left me feeling quite overwhelmed by the end of the day.
Harris Internal Medicine is a patient-focused primary care office specializing in the care of adults. We are Direct Primary Care Practice meaning that office services are charged by membership fees or at the time of visit rather than contracting with a health insurance plan. No. Concierge Medicine may charge insurance, co-pays and co-insurance along concierge fees to pay for services.
Membership is one of the more cost effective ways to cover office services at Harris Internal Medicine. Membership fees are usually paid on a monthly basis but can be paid quarterly or annually. When you become a member at Harris Internal Medicine the term of the agreement is one year, however it can be terminated at any time with a thirty day notice.
Harris Internal Medicine has always offered video visits to its members who needed the flexibility of having a visit outside of the office, however now we are expanding our virtual services! We provide one time virtual visits to non members who need urgent access to care and virtual memberships to those who live outside of the south Atlanta area.

I’ve known Dr. Harris for a while, but just recently became a patient. She focuses on what is important to my health instead of what is important to an insurance company.
The personal attention from a doctor is a welcome change coming to the healthcare industry as a whole and Dr. Harris is a leader in the area of direct primary care…bypassing the insurance company for basic healthcare needs.

My first visit with Dr. Harris went very well. She listened when I explained what I was looking for in a Functional Medicine Doctor. She has arranged for me to do some lab work that will hopefully uncover the best approach to my autoimmune disease. I felt comfortable and I felt that we could work as a team to develop a plan of action going forward. To me this is important. I want to be pro-active with my health and I don’t want to take a “pop a pill”

I am so glad the acupuncturist recommended Dr. Harris. I have limited insurance and the membership has been great. I moved here , didn’t have a doctor and usually only go once a year. I had some odd symptoms and Dr. Harris was very responsive. I would highly recommend her . Her receptionist is very caring as well! Thank you !

Dr. Harris is the only doctor who took the time to sit down with me and listened while I explained my symptoms to her. What I love most about her is that she is helping to find the root cause of my autoimmune disease instead of only treating my symptoms. This is something none of my previous doctors ever did. I am extremely appreciative of Dr. Harris and would recommend anyone to see her. Her office staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and there was no wait time in the lobby.

Harris internal medicine is outstanding! Dr. Harris never makes you feel she is in a hurry. She takes her time and listens to your concerns. She also has a very pleasant manner about herself. She is available when I need to speak with her, which is comforting. Her office manager, Marlee, is very knowledgeable and professional whenever I have spoken to her. I would highly recommend this practice for anyone seeking a more personal experience with a physician!

Dr. Harris is amazing. She truly cares for the wellbeing of her patients. She looks for the root cause of every complaint instead of throwing a medication at her guests to treat their symptoms. It never feels like an “in and out” visit where the doctor barely speaks to you and refills your prescription. Her office is patient centered, whole-health oriented, and focused on prevention.
