Dr. Anthony DiTomaso is Board Certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine as a Diplomate in Gastroenterology. He is the Owner and President of Gulf Comprehensive Gastroenterology, LLC a subdivision of Florida Digestive Health Specialists since 2011. Dr. DiTomaso began his solo practice in 1995 and founded Gulf Comprehensive Gastroenterology in 2010.
It is very important that you follow the instructions that were given to you by your physician regarding the bowel preparation. This bowel cleansing will help you have a successful exam. Please call your physician if you have any questions. Come to the center wearing loose comfortable clothing. It is best that you leave all valuables and jewelry at home.
A responsible driver or predetermined mode of transportation that is available to you immediately upon completion of your procedure. You will be unable to operate a motor vehicle for up to 24 hours after your procedure. Our goal is to treat each patient with respect and like a member of our own family.
The Term "EGD" stands for esophagogastroduodenoscopy, also known as upper endoscopy, and is a procedure usually performed by a gastroenterologist (GI or intestinal doctor). This test involves passing a long flexible black tube with a light and video camera on one end through the mouth to examine and visualize the esophagus (the swallowing tube leading to stomach), stomach and the first part of the small intestines called the duodenum.
Provide accurate and complete information concerning current and past states of health, present complaints, hospitalizations, medications (including over the counter products and dietary supplements), allergies and sensitivities, and any other pertinent health information. Understand and/or ask questions about care and services delivered, and about instructions following care and treatment.

From the initial consultation with Dr. Siniakowicz regarding my colonoscopy, to the procedure this morning, I felt valued as a patient and experienced a process the was efficient, friendly, professional and well executed. The staff from the physician to the receptionist including the nurses, techs and nurse anesthetist were fantastic. I could not be more pleased with the way I was treated and result.

Had a procedure this morning. Second time my doctor has sent me there to get it done. Everyone was great from Gina at the front desk to Brittany in Pre-procedure, on to Ann Marie and Grace in the procedure room. Got me in and I was awake and getting ready to go home before I knew it. If you need a procedure and they can do it there, I'd say give them a try. I should be back in three years for next visit.

Everything was done according to what had been explained prior. Everyone who assisted me from signing in until I was released was very kind. The place was well kept and I would definitely tell anyone who can use this facility, do so! I am not one that likes going to a hospital. So thankful we have this facility in Englewood.

When they called me to prepare me for surgery, there was a nurse to whom I was assigned. She was just ok. She acted very abrupt, and uncaring. Finally she left my area, to do whatever. I rolled onto my side and dozed off.The next thing I knew, I was being told by a different nurse was she was taking me into surgery. This nurse was very sweet and caring! I never saw the first nurse again!

Dr Ditamosso and the entire staff at Gulf Comprehesibe Surgery Center are amazing. Extremely professional. They make you feel comfortable with the entire process. Excellent ancillary staff and nursing staff. Dr Ditamosso has excellent bedside manner and communicates with you right away. Could not recommend him enough.

The entire staff was friendly, courteous and caring to my needs. I arrived at 9:30 AM and was awake by 10:38! I had both an Upper and lower GI. What really impressed me was, that Dr. Ditomaso took the time to talk to me when I was awake after the procedure to explain my results. The place was very clean and well organized and everybody knew what job they had to do, and did it well! I was very impressed! Thank you! …And the fact that you’re right up the street from me in a smaller facility, so you don’t have to wait forever. That was amazing!
