Our of our full hookup RV Campsites (riverside or interior) are made of packed gravel and have enough room to park an RV, vehicle, and recreational boat trailer. If you enjoy recreational boating, fishing, RV camping, unwinding at a river retreat, or relaxing around a campfire, consider Horseshoe Bend RV Campground & Boat Ramp on the Ohio River for your next weekend escape, summer encampment, or extended getaway.

Located on the banks of the Ohio River at mile 664.5, this gated and private RV campground and boat ramp is designed for the vacationer who desires to blend recreational speed boating, fishing and RV camping. Up to 70 RV campsites (riverside and interior) are available in a variety of rental scenarios from seasonal to weekly or weekend stays.
Services
RV camping is available nightly or seasonally from April through October. All RV campsites are Full Hook-Up (newly redone), including sewer, water and 30/50 amp electric service, with a provided picnic table and fire ring. RV campsites (riverside and interior) are approximately 40' W x 60' L. Each campsite is surfaced with packed gravel to the main campground roadways.
Old Town Leavenworth is the perfect location for boating, whether it is water skiing and wake boarding; or cruising our natural, wild and secluded sections of the Ohio River banks; or stopping at almost forgotten small historic riverside towns for a boater's lunch or dinner. Located at mile 664.5 on the Ohio River, our double wide concrete boat ramp can accommodate almost any recreational boat and trailer combination.
The lock and dams at Louisville, Kentucky and Cannellton, Indiana create the "Cannellton Pool" of the Ohio River, a 130 mile long "lake". Included in this section is the sharpest curve on the river, known as "Horseshoe Bend". In fact, oncoming barges must communicate with each other and time their maneuvers precisely so they don't pass at this sharp curve and risk collision.
If a reservation is cancelled 8 or more days prior to arrival, a flat $10 cancellation fee will be charged (per reserved lot cancelled). If a reservation is cancelled between 2 and 7 days prior to arrival, the first nights rental fee will be charged as a cancellation fee (per reserved lot cancelled).

Pictures of this campground are EXTREMELY misleading. There is no grass, there are no firepits, every sight is on roadrock with electric and water. NO SEWER.
We understand that different camps offer different amenities, but we hate being lied to , be that over phone or by EXTREMELY misleading photos.
Also their reviews seem to made by friends and family, not by actual pateoens.

If you like a quiet campground right on the Ohio River with little to no cell service, no internet and parking in a gravel lot, this place is for you. It does have full hook ups and a boat ramp. If boating is your thing, this is the place.

Great campground!! Manger awesome!! Super helpful and kind😊 Campground clean, well maintained, beautiful view of Ohio river, large level gravel sites, full hookups. Off the interstate so quiet peaceful but paved road all the way. Playground and basketball court for kids. Lots of room to walk dog! Traveling through but would definitely come back.

I made reservations with Penny for 8 nights back in January-February timeframe of 2021 to stay for 8 nights along the Ohio River. Before I made the reservations, I researched their website and found this under their Frequently Asked Questions page:
10. Is there Internet access?
Free WiFi is available throughout most of the campground for the use of our guests.
She implied later when we arrived and I found out they DID NOT have Wifi that I was lying when I told her she did NOT tell us when I made my reservation that there was no WiFi and also, by the way, no cell phone reception. She kept saying

Another of those that show great photos on the website which don't reflect the actual campground. We were there overnight and were perfectly pleased with our site, but it was really hard to find, instructions notwithstanding, and a long way off the interstate. Rate was good, pad (roadway) was almost level, people friendly. Just wasn't the glamorous campground the website promises.

Campground has two levels. First level is along the Ohio River with great views. Second level has peak-a-boo river views. Sites are decent spaced, all with full hookups. Gravel pads & tree lined sites. Really no other amenities. No WiFi, tv, or cell service along the river, but they tell you that when making your reservation. Camp host was very nice.

20 years ago our truck broke down on the highway. We were pulling a 38ft 5th wheel. Tow driver helped us get to this park. We were there for three nights. Never saw a living sole. Upon leaving we looked for any way to pay or info on how to pay. Nothing! So we just left. It's beautiful! Extremely quiet except for barges on river. We were backed to the Ohio River. Barges at night had spotlights on. Scared me to death. Also parked under a hedge apple tree. Thought the buggy man was coming for us.... lol! We loved it!

What a lovely quiet place that is genuinely charming. I really enjoyed myself there, I was simply a visitor but I can tell you that I would absolutely without any reservations camp there. This is one place you can feel right at home. Deer were everywhere

We really enjoyed our stay! The view from our camp site was beautiful. Quiet, well maintained campground. Perfect location to easily get to several caves. If you go, be sure to visit the Overlook as well. I would stay at this campground again!

The sites are very large. Each has full hook up. Nice to set up looking over the Ohio River and watch the barge traffic. Nice grassy area in between campsite and river perfect for games and play. The Overlook restaurant is just down the road also.
