Hand hewing of old Timbers. Fresh hewing shows new wood with historic character marks such as bolt and nail holes, black oxide staining. CRL uses over 80 years of combined experience to choose all the beams that will receive the Grader's stamp of approval. Because of this, if Certified Grading is not needed, assurance can be taken by the fact that our In-house Grading is usually enough to satisfy most building requirements.

Due to its rot resistance, durability and stability, Cedar is an excellent choice for most outdoor projects. While CRL does carry some beam stock, most of our Cedar inventory is best suited as paneling or siding. Unless otherwise stated, our Cedar is also FSC certified, making it a great choice for projects looking to lessening their carbon imprint.
Rustic Shiplap Siding and Paneling starts as Douglas Fir roof decking with a 3/8 T&G. Splitting this product produces a rudimentary Shiplap which nets 11/16" thick x 4-3/4" cover or 6-3/4" cover; lengths 2' to 12'. The split T&G roof deck yields a Rustic Shiplap in a finish that we call "Old Patina", which means the original aged surface and coloring is preserved, freeing you from the hassle of staining.
