Solar energy is a clean and renewable energy source. Whether you choose to provide your own electricity with a photovoltaic system or to heat your domestic water or home with a solar thermal system, you can feel proud that you have made an investment in the future. Every day that your system produces energy, you are reducing pollution and your home energy bills as well.

Legacy Solar is committed to serving northwestern Wisconsin as a full service solar energy provider. Our services assist you at every step of the process from consultation and the initial site assessment to a professional code compliant installation. We will assist with everything needed along the way including acting as a liaison to your electric utility company and assisting in all funding application processes.
Services
The best first step to using solar energy is to have a site assessment. A site assessment will provide you with details on: solar energy available at your site, possible mounting options for the system, cost estimates, a brief home energy use evaluation, and energy efficiency recommendations. Most importantly, a site assessment allows you to make a well informed decision.
Is your audience high /school seniors or senior citizens? Do you want an 8 hour class or a 15 minute presentation? No matter what your needs are, we can cater an education presentation to fit them. Fees for education are on a sliding scale and have ranged from $0/hour for 2 nd graders to $40/hour for professional institutions.
We will work with you to weigh the pros and cons of different mounting options to optimize your system for aesthetics and productivity. For example, a roof mount can be more appealing aesthetically and can get better solar energy access at some locations, but a ground mounted array makes it much easier to remove snow.
Solar thermal systems are a proven technology that has been used successfully for over 30 years. These systems transfer heat from the sun into a solar fluid and then to a home's domestic hot water, space heating system, or both. Domestic water heating systems use the sun's energy to provide a portion of your home's hot water needs.
Solar electric generation produces no pollution or emissions. The energy required to manufacture a solar panel is recovered in just 3-4 years of operation and the panels themselves will last 40-50 years. Solar electricity reduces the effects of coal burning power plants such as mercury in our water and carbon dioxide in our air.
