Services
The Matagorda County Hospital District (MCHD) was established in 1965 by an act of the Texas Legislature to serve the health care needs of Matagorda County residents. A seven-member Board of Managers is appointed by the Commissioners' Court to govern the management of the facility and to guide major health-related initiatives.
Hundreds of physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and administrators come together every day at MRMC to deliver quality medical services that promote positive health outcomes. As an ANCC Pathway to Excellence designated organization and a Joint Commission Accredited facility, you can rest assured that you have access to care you can depend on right here at home in Matagorda County, Texas.

Our normal hours of operation for outpatient testing are Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 5:00pm. After hours, please present to the ER Registration located at the back of the hospital for any outpatient testing or admission. Our ER Registration is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment to allow time for registration.
It is your right as a patient in this facility to be allowed access to protective services. These services include advocacy services, certification and licensure agencies, Medicare/Medicaid fraud, abuse reporting agencies, etc. A list of agencies with telephone numbers and addresses is provided.

This morning, I visited the hospital for the first time, to get an MRI. All the employees I encountered were professional and polite, serving me well. I want to give a special shout out to Sky Garcia, who was the technician performing the test. She is first rate. Your hospital is first rate. Thank you!

I’m here sitting in the breeze as instructed.. I have covid symptoms fever is 103.4 I’m dizzy it’s hurts to breath I’ve been here since 6:50. I’ve been waiting for 2 hours and some change just for them
To give me some meds to bring my temperature down. It’s currently 9:00 sharp and I still haven’t been seen. I’ve been tested they said it can take 2-3 days my step son got his results the same night he came.
Literally just sitting here haven’t seen a doctor yet. This hospital is ran poorly

Omg the slowest hospital I have ever been too, if u go to the ER please expect to be waiting 6+ hours. Like very ridiculous, and If you ask the receptionists anything, their favorite reply is ‘‘I don’t know’’ and this isn't the first time, they've said this to me. And these are workers Ive seen here before, so this isn’t their first day on the job, with their little attitudes, very unprofessional.

I typically do not leave negative reviews anywhere but after our experience with my 6 month old son I felt the need. We showed up at noon due to his cough, not eating, gagging on his mucus and him being lethargic. We were told we could leave our number at the check in desk and they would call when it was our turn to go back. They were extremely busy and had multiple people with covid related symptoms so we didn’t want to risk it with him and we waited in our car. At around 2:00 my wife went in to check on the wait time and they had already taken him off the list and stated that they tried calling

If you have to go to the hospital THIS IS THE ONE to go. Easy free parking. Super clean, very modern, and very easy to navigate. As soon as you enter the door, you are greeted by a friendly staff. The woman in registration 1 is AMAZING! She had to call and verify something for my blood work. She quickly resolved the issue. The wonderful girl in the lab was so great - I barely felt the needle (I am a BIG baby when it comes to blood work.) I recommend this hospital 100%. I live closer to Lake Jackson, but I will continue to use this hospital.
