Services
For over 20 years, the certified chimney pros at Top Hat & Tails Corp. have been traveling throughout Northeastern New Jersey delivering high quality chimney services paired with superior customer service. From complex masonry repairs down to the smallest installation, our technicians provide expertise and skill and guarantee your satisfaction.
At Top Hat and Tails Corp., our business was built on a commitment to our jobs and to our clients. We're committed to providing excellent service based on experience, knowledge and ongoing education. We're committed to using our industry's best tools and techniques to ensure that top level of service.
Our main aim as chimney professionals at Top Hat and Tails Corp. is two-pronged: We want to help maximize your chimney's performance, and minimize any potential safety issues or hazards. One service we offer that goes a very long way toward both: annual chimney sweeping. It's not just that your chimney gets dirty as time passes.
Those of us who've long owned and maintained a wood-burning fireplace and chimney system are likely well aware of the need to have that system professionally swept each and every year. Fewer homeowners, though, are aware that oil and gas heating systems - from your furnace to your hot water heater - are also combustion systems that vent through a chimney in order to perform effectively and as safely as possible.
Chimney liners are the hidden heroes of your chimney system. You may not see your liner, but it's working hard to provide added protection and added performance. On the flip side, a damaged or improperly sized flue liner is leaving your system susceptible to dangerous gas leaks, damaging moisture leaks, fire hazards, and damaging and dangerous draft problems.

Positive: Professionalism
Bob and his crew arrived at my house on time, very professional and polite. Cleaned our chimney and went over additional work I may need in the future with my chimney. They are straight to the point and will not try and sell you something you do not need, highly recommend Top Hat & Tails Corporation Pro Chimney!

I just had service from this company this afternoon, and they were great. They came to my house on time, did their work of cleaning our fireplace and chimney, and left no mess. Absolutley flawless, and now we can enjoy our fireplace with confidence.

Horrendous service. Outrageously overpriced. Had them come to my house to seal the flu and fill in a gap in the firebox. The flu was not ever weaker, had someone else come in and complete the job. Also made a mess in my fireplace. Cement was all over the place. Wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Also gave me a quote for a "necessary" chimney liner at between $5-10000. Additional contractor who completed the flu job (for free). Said that the price of the liner quoted was double what it should be and that it was a completely unnecessary job.

Go with ANYONE ELSE.

Highly recommended. The staff was incredibly friendly, professional, and took the time to explain the job and how to better maintain and care for our chimney in the future. Greatly appreciate their services and will use again!

Called this company to get a price on a chimney liner which I was told they could do. Charged me $375 to tell me what work needs to be done: a chimney liner which I already knew! Then tells me they'll get me an estimate from the company who does liners so they don't do liners. I'm sure this company does great chimney cleanings but they don't do everything they'll lead you to believe!

PS: I never received the liner estimate I was promised!

I've worked with Bob of Top Hat and Tails for the last two years and have always been happy with his professionalism and friendliness. I'm always weary of hiring someone to clean my chimney since it's stuff I can't really see and I have to rely on the professional to tell me what the problem is. Bob has always been spot on, trustworthy and gone out of his way to help us solve issues with our chimney. This past summer, he spent a good deal of time and effort trying to help us determine why our home smelled like we had just had a fire in the fireplace and went out of his way to

Bob, of Top Hat & Tails, was the second chimney sweep I had visit my home to provide estimates for fixing my chimney.

The first chimney sweep who came wanted to do unnecessary major construction to the chimney ... and couldn't explain why the repairs were needed.

I found Bob listed in the NJ Chimney Sweep Guild. And unlike the first chimney sweep, Bob did NOT think repairs were necessary and was able to explain the source of my problems. He explained that chimneys in the area had been built generally in 2 different sizes, the larger 8x16 and the 8x8. He said he had a fireplace of
