Hartung Brothers owns and operates more than 4000 acres of irrigated, sandy soil in the Midwest. Through a crop rotation program, about half of these acres are dedicated to grains, such as seed corn for our seed corn division, while the other half grows vegetable crops. Most of these acres have been farmed by HBI for decades, providing us with intimate knowledge of the ground and how to produce the greatest yield possible.
Hartung Brothers has grown, graded, and shipped quality raw cucumbers since 1997, operating in six states and the Canadian province of Ontario. Recently, in response to customer needs, the company has expanded into organic cucumber production in its home state of Wisconsin. Everywhere, Hartung Brothers operates its own cucumber sorting and grading facilities.
Hartung Brothers conducts contract research and development activities on customer owned genetics and to customer protocols from the greenhouse to foundation and pilot hybrid production. Our seed corn division is run by highly trained and motivated personnel, growing on company-owned, 100% irrigated land and through growers with a longstanding relationship with Hartung Brothers.
