One of the coast's best beaches for picnicking, searching for shells, birdwatching, and fishing. Prowl the dunes and watch for roosting Barn Owls. Pros:
- Sites are fairly spacious, and come with a picnic table.
- Looks nice, lots of trees and grass rather than just a gravel lot.
- Restaurant and store inside the park
- Laundry rooms, and bathrooms with showers
Cons:
- The "High Speed" wifi is not high speed. It's around 5mbps down and 0.1mbps up. It should be at least 25mbps to be considered high speed.

Great, helpful staff! Myself & several other fire evacuated families from No Cal fires given spaces here and helpful rates. Perfect location close to everything in region. Clean, spacious sites, laundry facility, pool & hot tub, couldn't ask for more/better of a RV park. Thank you Mad River for making a stressful time a "vacation" for us. Will definately return soon.

The website for Mad River RV Park says it’s a 9.5 on TL. This must be 20 years ago. The park looks old and run down a bit. The grass is not managed and mostly weeds. There are only a few 50 amp sites. The WiFi runs around 3mbps most of the time. The park is full of permanent residents and feels a bit like a trailer park. I guess we were disappointed based on what we read on the website that said it was one of the best in Northern California. Not a chance. If you only need a one nighter Mad River is fine. I wouldn’t stay any longer. The electric, water and sewer all worked fine.

We stayed for five nights over the 4th of July weekend 2021 and really liked this RV Park. The Wi-Fi was fantastic! Great bandwidth and connectivity, and cell phone reception was great here too (with both AT&T and Verizon). The entire property was clean and nice, including the restrooms. The spaces are really large and all pull through, so easy in and out, and they are all angled to maximize privacy from your neighbors. It was wonderful to have grass and trees in every space, too. So many RV parks are all gravel these days with minimal trees. The staff was very nice and helpful and the location

Very disappointed in appearance of park. Dog feces everywhere in what I think was supposed to be grass. I know there is a water shortage, but we stayed at other RV parks that were very clean. The sites were in need of good maintenance. This is totally run down. The worst RV park we have stayed in. I will not recommend it to anyone. Awful
