Joint injections are a non-invasive treatment option where medication in injected directly into the damaged or injured joint. This can reduce inflammation, improve range of motion, and provide pain relief. Botox is the best known of a group of medications that use various forms of botulinum toxin to temporarily paralyze muscle activity.
The nerve conduction study stimulates specific nerves and records their ability to send the impulse to the muscle. The study can show where there is a blockage of the nerve pathway. A nerve conduction velocity (NCV) test is used to assess nerve damage and dysfunction. This procedure measures how quickly electrical signals move through your peripheral nerves.
At Cape Fear Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, we are not only committed to ensuring our patients receive the best treatment available; we believe their recovery and rehabilitation is equally as important. Our physical and occupational therapists offer a comprehensive range of approaches to help restore the function of our patients after injury, surgery, and illness.
Here at Cape Fear Orthopedics & Sports Medicine we offer a variety of radiological procedures and testing in office. This service allows for quicker diagnosis, treatment, and recovery for our patients. Injection of the contrast material better allows for visualization of soft tissues around and within the joint (like tendons, cartilage, and ligaments).

I was seen by Dr. Eck after an MRI showed bone spur growth in my neck. I have NEVER been treated in such a condescending manner by a physician. He made it perfectly obvious he didn't have any time or interest in discussing any of my symptoms beyond the nerve pain and numbness I experienced initially. If I ever need ortho care regarding spinal issues again, I will make the trip to Chapel Hill or Duke.

Very unprofessional I was seen by a PA for a possible rupture in my bicep tendon. Was basically told I could have surgery but not a must. They provided very little care or information on my condition. I advised I would like to have the surgery. They then sent me to scheduling for surgery. There I was told that I had to get a brace that would be needed from another office as they couldn’t just issue me one after surgery as my insurance wouldn’t allow this. I call the other office but I couldn’t get scheduled until after my surgery which wouldn’t work. I called cape fear orthopedic to advise

Doctor took less than 5 minutes to assess my injury.
Only looked at the Xray, never looked at my finger physically.
I had explained I had to move away from my last doctor and he had said to look into a 2nd operation for my injury because it was a very serious break I had.
This doctor said he wouldn't recommend it, without even physically assessing my injury and examining my finger.
Never asked me if I ever wanted to have the full use of my finger again to bend it or even bothered to ask if I needed the use of my hand for the work I do as a profession. I actually need the full use of my hand

I’ve gone to Dr Broussard for 20+ years for care of my knees throughout my career. He’s very supportive with a plan of care guided by the patients wishes. He’s not quick to do surgery but he makes you feel so comfortable in his care and you are able to function and improve your quality of life. Cape Fear Ortho get you in quickly and don’t keep you all day. I love that they take their X-rays there which saves time and doesn’t delay care. Their staff is very helpful and thru the pandemic instead of staying away from us, they come out from behind the desks and help us manage the sign-in

This review is specific to Dr. Eck, Spine Surgeon. I have been a long time patient with Cape Fear Orthopedics and absolutely adore Dr. Levine and the staff in general however my consultation with Dr. Eck yesterday left me shocked and furious. I have never met a doctor with such awful bedside manner or such an off-putting personality. He was downright rude, condescending and smartalec in his tone. I would NEVER in a million years subject myself to a conversation with him again much less ever consider him touching my spine in an operating room. Maybe he was having a bad day; but when I got home and

Today (7/20/2021), I had the immense pleasure of visiting the Ferncreek location where I was met at the door by Amanda. She was a breath of fresh air, pleasant, caring and her customer service was amazing. When patients present to a facility, they are not always greeted warmly but that was not the case today. Amanda is a JEWEL that the Ferncreek office is blessed to have. Thank you, Amanda for for your warm, kind spirit.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. The customer service here is terrible. Every time I call them the lady on the phone ALWAYS has an attitude and today I drove half way across town to get a copy of my medical records and was told that I can fill out the paper and return the next day because they close at 4:30. It was 4:32 when I walked in. I will be contacting Tricare to let them know how terrible this establishment is and try to block them from receiving anymore referrals from the military. The reviews on here speak for itself. Seems I am not the only one who has had issues with these people.

I went here the other day with my mom who saw Dr Eck. He seemed very knowledgeable and seemed to genuinely care. I did witness one situation though that has made me uneasy. We were on our way to check out; which in this building is very unclear. You pass by several windows that would appear to be checkout but in fact aren't. I am not sure what those windows do but there was a short dark brown hair girl cussing like a sailor talking about one of the doctors there. I believe she worked in the first window we passed as all the other windows were occupied. She was very unprofessional and clearly

My daughter was seen here when she broke her arm. Everyone we dealt with from the front till we checked out were great. We were seen before our appointment time. The dr is very thorough and listens to what we tell him. We had to call to reschedule one of our appointments and they were able to get us in the next day

I will never go back to this place! Most unprofessional experience and an X-Ray money trap. My son and I waited in the lobby for an hour - then waited in room for another hour. They insisted we take another $115 X-ray on the follow-up to make sure that it still wasn't broken a month later...I am still mad at myself for being shamed into another X-ray that wasn't needed.

Very disappointed with this place. Although the medical staff and therapists I have dealt with have been great, the practice refuses to accept VA patients and also refuses to bill the VA for existing VA patients. Additionally, appointment times seem to be a suggestion only. Count on being seen much, much later than your scheduled appointment time

Dr. Bradley Broussard, M.D. did an outstanding job on my broken clavicle. Surgery was scheduled within 3 days, completed perfectly, and the incision is flawless and healing fast. Also, Dr. Broussard has a fantastic demeanor, his confidence is not at all cocky, and he seemed more than fine with seeing me initially as a late walk-in patient for the initial consultation; many people seem irritated when you show up at the end of their shift. The rest of the CFO staff were also helpful and upbeat.

Even though surgery is never pleasant I'm glad I choose Dr. Clark and his staff here at cape fear ortho. Had a wonderful experience ever time I have come in they have bend over backwards to help me. A.J. is my physical therapist and she is the best and most helpful in my healing process. I appreciate all they have done and continue to do for me.

Patient care has been of good quality. Consistently, care providers and support staff have been friendly. What has become intolerable is the wait time - to incude being called two hours after the actual appointment time. I too have professional medical duties. Were I to behave towards patients in a similar manner, I would most certainly be disciplined. Cape Fear Othopedics staff need to be educated on good customer service. I? I will very likely look for medical services elsewhere.

Employees at front desk not so friendly. They also have a sign in sheet and they have a big sign saying you must sign in before sitting. Then they tell you to not sign in, but to go to a kiosk to check in. Why have a sign if the policy has changed. Some of do actually read when we walk into places.
So even if you have been a patient here you have to fill out all your medical information all over again which is very annoying. I wish they would have told me to sign into a portal from home instead of using this tablet on a stand like all my other doctors ask (dentist, eye doctor) all have this as
