Stand-up comedy shows as good as you'll see anywhere! And the bands are awesome. The Reissues do an amazing job with every band and era they celebrate in the Platinum Series. This is a very cool venue, historic and interesting. Great food within and nearby. Easy to find, just off the freeway.

As a business owner I cannot be thankful enough to have watched this place come to life once again. The venue is absolutely beautiful for weddings, concerts, any event honestly. We have held many occasions here and have been nothing but satisfied. The owners and staff are so kind and treat everyone like family. Turntable, a restaurant and bar connected to 31 West, is a nice addition to the area with a variety of food and drinks. Proud to support this business, highly recommended for many reasons!

Thirty One West hosted a Destin Richardson Production, "The Roast of Thanos" this evening. My boyfriend, and I thoroughly enjoyed the comedic talent this group has. My favorite of them all was Falcon. That dude is HILARIOUS. Captain America did the show justice as well. Overall pleasant experience, and would do it again without question.

Pizza and drinks were decent. Wasn't expecting the pretzel rods to be exactly that's similar to Rold Gold pretzels. Trivia Night was fun.

Good acoustics and sound. The lighting was ok, tough to see band members at times, even center stage. Bathrooms upstairs were ok and oddly marked on the back of the door if it was mens or womens. I didnt try the bar upstairs or downstairs because I ate before the show. Parking was easy and close across the street. A very nice local small venue

I come here for the music- the house band does an amazing job playing their tribute shows! I really love the old opera house feel and the sound is great. I've been coming here since the place opened, and I have noticed some changes. The no longer use glass cups, only plastic, and the drinks are much smaller than they used to be. Seems like a way to cut corners. In addition, they seem completely understaffed. One bartender at each bar during a busy Saturday night show. Needless to say we waited a long while for our drinks.

Someone(s) had the idea to revive this old building, and in the process, be a part of reviving downtown Newark. Kudos to that person, or people. It's a great venue to see bands, and I see how it could be a great place for weddings and other large functions.

With a bar downstairs and a smaller bar on the third floor, it makes getting something to drink very accessible (as the main room is on the second floor). Smart idea. And Thirty One West could have gone with just a bare-bones bar and still made money. But they turned it up and brought local beers and spirits on in addition to all the

Cool old building with great sound and lots of concert options. We went to a more chill solo show.

I've attended a wedding here too that was really nice. High ceilings and lots of old details made it a pretty venue.

Drove in from Columbus for a Jerry Douglas Band show and was really impressed by the quality of this venue. Great bar and a cozy old-school sort of ball room for the performance area. A lot of little nice touches like screens around the venue and bar that show the performance so you don't miss any of your show because you were getting a drink.
Would definitely come back in the future.

Amazing venue for live music. Many music venues are bars with live music. Thirty One West is a live music venue that also happens to have two bars. If you are looking for a venue where the focus is on the entertaininment--great artists, excellent sound, and small crowds in a beautiful setting--but you'd like to have a drink or two, this is the place for you. Downtown Newark offers free street parking and several lots. There are several restaurants within walking distance if you're looking for dinner before the show.

The place is a very cool, old 3 story venue in downtown Newark, apparently recently renovated. We drove over for the Ben Nichols of Lucero solo show. We did have drink/bar issues in that the third floor bar was limited and the main floor bar was busy with only one gal tending. My husband could not get the beer he wanted as they were out so he settled for another. He ordered my Riesling but they had to go fetch a warm bottle from the basement.

The sound was pretty good, although since we were standing under the speakers, it was difficult for me to hear his between song chats with the audience

Love seeing this gorgeous space renovated and back in use. It seemed like there were no hiccups on opening night, buying tickets from the box office was easy and the sound in the ballroom is incredible. There's a bar in the balcony with domestics and the bar downstairs has craft beer and cocktails that you can get in a plastic cup to take up to the ballroom. Can't wait to see the other shows this week!
