Services
Pumping of waste for apartment complexes, mobile home associations, and large housing complexes. Cannot see the outlet line leading to the drainfield because it is covered by the scum layer (called a crust) inside the septic tank. These mean you need some septic tank service. Luckily, Hall's Serv-All specializes in all of your septic tank cleaning needs.
In this picture, you can see three layers. Anything that floats rises to the top and forms a layer known as the scum layer. Anything heavier than water sinks to form the sludge layer. In the middle is a fairly clear water layer. This body of water contains bacteria and chemicals like nitrogen and phosphorous that act as fertilizers, but it is largely free of solids.
Your septic tank can only handle so much water at a time. The tank needs time to separate the solids and liquids and send the liquids to the drain field. Spread out laundry use. Instead of doing all your laundry on one day, spread it out to allow time for your septic tank to recover. Do not put anything heavy on the ground over your tank or drain field like a shed, parked car or RV, cement, asphalt, or above ground pool.
No. Toilet paper breaks down quite easily inside your septic tank. Paper towels, Kleenex, and baby wipes do NOT decompose easily and should NEVER be flushed down the toilet. These are often the cause of plugged drain lines and can quickly plug up a drainfield. This is not recommended. Tree roots are expansive, and love the nutrient rich waste water inside your septic tank and drainfield.
