Established in 1958 as the Corset and Brassiere Women's Club, Inc., we re-invented ourselves in 1963 as The Underfashion Club, Inc., a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable, organization dedicated to intimate apparel education. We support new talent with scholarships and internships; and we offer seminars, panel discussions, and networking opportunities to industry professionals.
We welcome donations to any of the below programs/funds that provide dedicated scholarship support to intimate apparel students studying design, merchandising, and production. The Eileen West Memorial Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support to students of fashion design. The John Bowman and Mary Krug Memorial Scholarship Funds provide scholarship support to students of fashion merchandising.
On behalf of my fellow officers and directors, I would like to thank the brands, manufacturers, retailers, suppliers, media, schools and individuals who work with us to ensure the future of the Intimate Apparel industry. We at the Underfashion Club are proud of our achievements, and most grateful for your support.
John L. Bowman, who died in March of 2016 after fighting a courageous battle with brain cancer, was a pioneer in the Intimate Apparel Industry. He dedicated 27 years to the initial launch and success of Wacoal America and, later in his career, was a partner at Dana-co LLC working with the Natori brand.
