DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! They are dishonest and do not stand by their workmanship. My driveway which was paved with asphalt by this company lasted 18 months before it began to crumble. By year 4 it was more like a gravel surface as very little of the asphalt was left by then. I called several times and a rep came out and said he would get back to me. He never called back in spite of repeated calls to the company. It was $4000 down the drain and I had to have the whole job repaved at twice the cost by a legitimate company because the new company had to remove all the old gravel and bits of asphalt

AMERICAN ASPHALT did an outstanding job!!!
We been doing the asphalt seal every 3-4 years and every time we would have some issues with stenciling, either with parking numbers, fire lines or handicap areas).
AMERICAN ASPHALT spend extra time ahead of the project to make sure they document everything before they start the asphalt seal.
Steve is very professional, knowledgeable and responsive ( he is an early bird so don't call him late in the afternoon). :)
Kudos to Carlos and their entire crew they start and finished the project very clean!

The owners of the mobile home park we manage hired American Asphalt to repave our roads here in the park.
Over-all they did a great job! There were a few minor hiccups due to the age of our park and old wiring not being buried deep enough, but we got through it all just fine. (it was no fault of theirs)
Alex is great and ALWAYS reachable. He communicates constantly to ensure everything is being done to expectation. They were great at working with our many last minute requests and our residents who did not always care to follow the rules and guidelines set for the construction time. They stayed

There super intendent to only talk to him in Spanish not English even though his English is fine.zI had an a ppl appointment with president Shel Waggener and he intentionally did not see me even after I called to confirm he disregarded our honored meeting. This place has no INTEGRITY and it's clear they don't value their employees

American Asphalt just completed a concrete job for me... an ADA compliant parking area. The company was top notch from start to finish. I worked with Alex Christiansen, who gave me a very competitive proposal. But what separated this company from the others I received bids from was the customer service. Alex's attention to every detail, responsiveness and follow through were stellar! Everything was timely. He and the crew at American Asphalt were incredible. We had a complete replacement of our HOA driveways last fall, and American Asphalt was selected after a bid process. Alex Christianson handled the bid process and the project management for AA. He was a pleasure to work with, highly professional and skilled in his job. The entire project was handled perfectly well inspite of its many difficulties. Terrible company. Totally disorganized. They were hired by our HOA to slurry seal the roads in our development. They sent out contradictory notices during the weeks leading up to work starting. They put signs up telling us not to park on streets on certain days and then never turn up to do the work. Instead we get new dates hung on the door later in the week.
They post start times on street signs of 8am (repeated in all the notices) and then tell is via door hangers that it starts at 7am.
The door hangers have an mistake in the contact phone number so getting in touch with the project manager

I originally contacted them on April 4th by filing out their inquiry form on their website. I received an email response the next day stating that I would shortlyreceive a call from their customer service staff to discuss my project. A week went by with no call and I called them. Got voice mail. A couple of days later I received a call saying that an estimator would call me. Still waiting three weeks later.
If you don't want the work just say so up front. Now I've wasted a month of my time waiting for these fools to call. So much for Diamond Certified service.

Couldn't be happier with AMERICAN ASPHALT and Steve. Commercial Parking lot in Burlingame CA. Steve bid the job within 24hrs after contact. Matched and bettered the other 2 bids. His crew arrived on the start day as planed and completed the job on the date promised.

I called American asphalt company for estimate my backyard put asphalt. I scheduled an appointment with Rudy when the appointment came. he did not show and did not not call. I called him to follow up with him he said it was not on his schedule so he did not show. When I asked him his for estimate and then he asked me approximately how many square-foot .
Then he asked me to give him approximately how much how many square foot our back yard was. I told him about 5000 square feet. He said about $12,000.

Ok, this may be a very uniformed review but I happen to be sitting in my car for an hour next to a parking lot they are redoing, and I have to say, it is very impressive how quick the workers are and how skilled they are with the various machines they are driving around. They all seem to be flawless at team work. Seriously, it is like watching a symphony, asphalt style. I love seeing people who are competent at what they do.
