Though born and raised in Long Island, New York, Tom calls Berkeley County, WV his home. After entering the garage door industry in the 1980s, he relocated to West Virginia in 1988 with his wife Cathie and their two young children, Josie and Charlie. Throughout this time, Tom worked in the garage door field in Northern Virginia and the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia.
He decided to start his own garage door & opener company in 2007. In the 30+ years in the field, Tom has worked with most brands of garage doors and openers, but decided on becoming an Amarr/Entrematic/LiftMaster dealer for his own company. Although exclusively an Amarr/Entrematic/LiftMaster dealer, he has vast experience with other brands for repairs and service.

We haul away all old materials we take down, including old doors, tracks, operators, and related materials, free of charge. Make sure the photo eye sensors are unobstructed and free of debris. Sometimes something as small as a spider web will interrupt the invisible beam between the photo sensors. Also check to see if the lights are lit on each photo eye sensor box.

I had an issue at a new home I purchased. I called The Door Guy and he gave me a few pointers to try. Nothing worked that I tried, he stopped by and fixed my door. Needed reset. Took about 10 minutes. Never charged me. When I have garage door needs in the future, Tom will get my business. Thank you Tom!!

I recently had a brand new door and opener installed. I did 4 total bids and did do my research on each person and what they where trying to sell to me. I have had zero issues with any of the work and the installation. The Door Guy is very respectful and a very good business man who answers questions honestly and doesnt try to sell you the highest item if your truly not in that need. Now if you need something more he will explain and help you in any way. The one thing about the door which was installed. It's very very very quiet. And no issues. Thankful that I found him and also hes small business

Excellent experience! My garage door would not open as the internal springs had snapped. Called on a Sunday and left a message assuming they were closed... I was called by 10 minutes later. They requested pictures of the door and info be texted after a short conversation. Tech arrived 15 minutes early the next day - it took about an hour to replace the torque bar. It is a much higher quality torque bar than used by my builder (Dan Ryan). Total cost was $290. Great husband and wife team - I highly recommend them.
