A Cooperative is a business that is created and owned by the people who use its goods and services. Co-ops are unique because its members are the owners. Member-owners not only get the products and services they need, but also have a say in the business decisions of the co-operative. The roots of the modern Cooperative business movement date back to England in the mid-1840's.

Super expensive with limited selection. It's College town. I'd rather go to the small Asian market or Jason's next door

Good groceries with higher prices, as most items are organic. This place is very clean.

It definitely has an interesting selection. It has lots of options for vegans and vegetarians and other special dietary needs. It's might be a little difficult to get some less healthy options, or affordable options, but that's not really the type of store that green star is. I really like that they have lots of local options though. For what it is, I highly recommend it. very clean

It's not your typical convenience store because they carry some unique products that you won't see at the big corporate stores. One product we bought to test our spicy hot tolerance was the Paqui Chip Challenge. We love spicy sauces but this chip had our mouth on fire. Great store to shop and the employees are friendly.

Quaint cafe and market in the heart of college town with a variety of nutritious snacks, meals, beverages and groceries to fulfill the immediacy of โ€œeating on the goโ€ or the delayed meal for a later time. Well stocked cafe/dining area with rather hip guitar instrumental music (at time of this visit). Friendly, considerate and informative employees whom might even rattle off a humorous quip (or two). Grateful to have stumbled in as the first stop on a weeklong trip to the Ithaca area. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Comparable to Wegman in terms of store lay out presentation, the store is smaller scale with more premium local goods. Membership provides discount and it is a co-op open to investments. The overall design of the store is very economic friendly.

I visited the Greenstar Collegetown market for the first time yesterday. I was surprised to find this store full of produce and health items at good prices. I also discovered fresh bread loaves made by a company names Wide Awake Bakery (in Trumansburg, N.Y.). I also found my favorite yogurt by Brown Cow in both maple and coffee flavors (hard to get). The two gentlemen who were running the store were very friendly and helpful. I am on my way to visit their other store in Cascadilla area of Ithaca, N. Y. . I

Awesome compact grocery store with many healthy options in the densest part of the city. If you live in or near Collegetown, this is a very convenient option. If you're looking for organic, gluten free, all natural, high quality food, shop here. If you're looking for beer, cigarettes, Pepsi, stop at Jason's or 7-11.

Great place to go for a healthy snack or some supplementary groceries when you're on campus or in Collegetown. Yes, things are pricey, but if you choose carefully and hit the sales, you can get some high quality treats at a reasonable price. I come by for the $4/lb skim mozzarella cheese, top notch chocolate bars for $2 or $2.50 a piece when they're on sale, protein bars for $1 or so when they're on sale. (And they're on sale quite often!) Thursday is bulk discount day for members - so nuts, trail mixes, dried fruit, etc. are cheaper to buy then. Other pricier favorites: Tofurkey

Great store, the selection is pretty big, particularly in fruits and vegetables. They sell the other grocery store stuff you need as well, and have a small section of bakery/coffee, so you can get a lot of things done in a single visit. It's also right next to the bus stop, so it's convenient to walk down, get your shopping done, and get onto the bus before heading up home.

The latest rendition of GreenStar is a hit! Bright & open modern layout w/high ceilings, quick foods-to-go right up front, and tables along the sunny front windows. Much preferred over the DeWitt Mall location - better vibe. A few free parking spots right out front would be nice in the Winter.

Good place to buy groceries on the way home. Very convenient indeed, but there is only limited kinds of things you can buy. Very small and a bit expensive, like a mini wholefoods. Thumbs up to the chips. They are good.

GreenStar emerged as an alternative to some of the other prepared food marketplaces in Collegetown, and its purpose strictly within the borders of Collegetown is great - there's nothing else that sells moderately priced groceries for those without cars on Cornell's campus. The location is great, and the hours are pretty flexible (8 am to 11 pm). For a food market strictly within Collegetown, GreenStar is a solid 4 stars.

However, compare GreenStar to Wegman's, and it can't come close to compete based on selection, and can't touch Tops or P&C Fresh on prices. The problem
