California Advanced Pain & Spine Specialists
He graduated from Stanford with a degree in Human Biology and received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Southern California in 1979. The following year, Dr. Salazar completed an internship at Los Angeles County - USC Medical Center in Internal Medicine. Dr. Abdollahi-Fard enjoys an active lifestyle reaching back to his participation in high school basketball and volleyball teams.

As a result, he has had his share of injuries and knows firsthand the frustration of chronic pain. He has always strived to show special empathy towards patients who are often allowed very little respite from their debilitating symptoms. Pain is a multi-faceted medical problem that affects all aspects of life.

Chronic back pain is defined as pain that persists for 12 weeks or longer. The pain can range in intensity from a dull, constant ache to a sudden, sharp sensation that leaves the person incapacitated. Pain can be defined as an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience. Pain is subjective. For some patients, back pain is mild.
If the pain is from the cancer itself, it can be from the cancer growing into or destroying nearby tissue. As a tumor grows, it can press on nerves, bones or organs. The tumor can also release chemicals that can cause pain. Or your body's reaction to the chemicals can cause pain. Cancer treatments, including surgery, radiation and chemotherapy, also can cause pain.
Sometimes the pain is simply caused by a bad pillow and can disappear without treatment. Occasionally neck pain lasts for weeks or months, drastically limits your ability to move your head, and radiates into the shoulders. These could be signs of a more serious medical condition. Acute neck pain can result when neck muscles and ligaments are subjected to quick and unnatural movements in auto accident whiplashes or trauma during sports.
Shoulder pain can make a simple act - brushing your hair, reaching behind your back, or grabbing something overhead - seem like a monumental task. As the shoulder joint is built to rotate in several directions, it is prone to injuries that can trigger pain. It is also one of those joints that are affected by osteoarthritis-a degenerative joint disease.
The hip is the joint between the thigh bones & pelvis and provides stability and support in your body. As a result, pain in the hip can be excruciating and make movements difficult. Hip pain is relatively common among both kids and adults. Approximately 7.1% of those with chronic pain claim to feel it in their hip, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Dr. Salazar dropped me without warning saying: "I am through with you" and "find a free clinic" because Covid had devastated my New York City insurance company, delaying payments. Covid put them in disarray and my insurance examiner disappeared. Yet, a very high-level insurance Director called his billing assuring that payments are forthcoming. No matter, he literally, verbally kicked me out. I later learned that he was being paid but Dr. Salazar's billing refused to let me know the full status of payments. Remember, no warning

Dr.Abdollahi performed a procedure on me 2 days ago. I've already experienced such a big improvement in my pain management. I am very pleased with the whole experience. The super support staff that helped with the procedure was as wonderful and helpful as was the doctor himself. Great experience.

I was referred to CAPSS for pain medication when my doctor felt that I needed a deeper dive into my case. I found the doctors and staff to be excellent. They were concerned about why I came to them and offered alternatives to Opioid therapy. They just did not write a prescription. They listened and did the appropriate tests to discover why I was in pain and asking for medicine.

I appreciate a team that cares.
