Cape May Wicker
The 110 foot Cape May Whale Watcher has been dolphin and whale watching in the Cape May, Wildwood, Stone Harbor, Atlantic City and the rest of the New Jersey Shore area since 1993. We have also been history cruising in conjunction with the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts since 1993. Cape May Whale Watcher has a variety of available activities on our fleet.

Our featured "Cetacean Spectacular" experience takes you on a 3-hour tour of the Bay and the Atlantic for a real whale and dolphin watching expedition. We have the largest and fastest marine mammal watching boats in New Jersey and we are the only boats with the never expiring "Marine Mammal Sighting" guarantee.
Services
Whether you are by yourself on an adventure, friends looking for a new story to tell, a family with kids looking for fun or a couple looking for romance, it can be found on the waters around Cape May and Wildwood, NJ. Whale and dolphin watching, history tours, fun things to do with kids, fireworks, air show, and lighthouse cruises are just a few of the exciting events offered.
Cape May Whale Watcher has been providing students and large groups with the opportunity to get up-close with dolphins for decades. Take a trip aboard one of our safe vessels to potentially view dolphins, whales, marine birds, and other sea life. The experience of being aboard a ship is a unique way to learn about the marine environment.
While Capt Jeff and his family concentrate on Whale and Dolphin Watching, early on, we realized that the vessels offer a unique platform for a multitude of uses. Our roots are deep in sightseeing and special events along the Jersey Shore. Our local history and flavor are based on ties to the area since the 1950s.
I have been planning this trip for a year. Last November, I contacted Capt Jeff and asked if it was too late for the trip. He said, that late in the year they play it by ear, depending on the weather. Since I wanted to take a group I decided to wait for this fall. I investigate all of my trips before I go, and in doing so for this, I found that Cape May Whale Watcher had the best reviews.
Advance purchase is recommended, and trips can sell out. To maximize your chances of getting the day and time you prefer, please buy your tickets well in advance. Tickets can only be purchased with a Visa, Mastercard or American Express. Advance purchases and reservations are held up until 30 minutes prior to departure.

I decided to drive down to Cape May last minute on a Saturday. I searched on Groupon/Google for things to do in Cape May (aside from going to the beach). Found the Cape May Watcher and bought sunset tickets through their website.
With this 2 hour cruise, it includes pizza or a hot dog. They do have fountain drinks and small bar drinks for sale.
You get a lot of information and history on Cape May.
Best views are from the upper level, I think. Saw quite a few dolphins, loved the entire experience.

RUN DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS EXPERIENCE!

Unless you want to be disrespected, harassed, and bullied and then have management make you feel even worse when you complain!!

I have been a Yelper for over 10 years now.. and VERY rarely have I ever given this amount of stars.. sad because outside of the disrespect.. it would have been a gem.

I purchased this through Groupon and up until we boarded the boat and set sail.. my experience was a positive one. Apparently, they have not taught certain members of their staff to not disrespect and ridicule their customers. My 9 month pregnant sister and

The boat was too crowded and it the people were fighting to be able to get spot on the edge to see the dolphins. There weren't enough seats to seat everyone. It was simply overstuffed to the point that there is hardly any standing space left.

Very few people were wearing masks and none of the employees seemed to care about wearing masks either. The whole experience made me quite uncomfortable.

We did see dolphins and I enjoyed that. But the boar experience can use some improvement.

Year after year we have been coming here and it never disappoints! We do the 5:30 pm trip and get to see the lighthouse, sunset and tons of dolphins. We also eat pizza or hotdogs provided by them free of charge. The boat provides easy access for anyone with a stroller and clean bathrooms. Definitely worth every penny!

We had reservations which we gad to cancel at the last minute. The woman who answered the phone was very pleasant. She said she would check their waitlist and, if somebody was able to take our reservation, she would refund our money. We received the refund in full. We will definitely reschedule this trip.

I appreciate Jeff's reply to my review but I still have to disagree with how you all managed the tickets and seating and viewing. We understand you view wildlife from the rails standing but seats are for resting? Cmon! You completely oversold your boat where you had to sit or stand crowded at the rails anyways...so an elderly woman sitting who is "resting" then has to stand to see wildlife? No! Elderly sit!!!

Nice, clean boat. We did the sunset cruise, which has free pizza and hot dogs. Small bar for drinks, along with water and soda. Informational and lots of dolphins!

This is something to do if you want to get out for a couple hours. It was extremely hot but we saw plenty of dolphins with great bird watching. Used a Groupon which mentioned free beverages and pastries but none of that was on hand but oddly if you had money, it was on hand! LOL!! My seven year old daughter had a great time and honestly it's that all that matters? Plus they do offer adult beverages

Our party of 13 family members took the Tuesday morning trip on the CM Whale Watcher last week. It was the best ever! We do this every summer and always enjoy it. This time we were given quite a show by the pospoises, and other varietites of sea life! The kids loved it! Very enjoyable and well worth the price of admission! Thanks for a great ride!

Great first time outing for myself & my 5 year old son! Very informative & loved the rocking of the boat! We ran into some choppy water in the ocean & had a slight downpour but other than that it was a great time!!! Saw about 100 dolphins but no whales.

Wonderful experience. Asked for a vegan meal for the trip and planned on boiled veggies and toast! Nothing like that. Extra careful taken for this meal, very impressed. Staff very knowledgeable and friendly. We will be back!

Perfect activity to introduce us to cape may. We saw over three dozen dolphins and a historical tour thrown in thanks to the guide! Free juice and coffee as well as a cash snack stand is available and a little rain won't stop you because there's enclosed space on the boat. Check out Groupon for a discount, well worth the money.

Our family went on the 3-hour whale watching tour. Our afternoon on the Atlantis was very pleasant and the crew were great! We didn't see any whales, but saw lots of dolphins. We would definitely go on a tour with the Cape May Whale Watcher company again, albeit maybe trying one of the other tours they offer!!

This was awesome! I did get a little sea sick at one point over the edge but the crew was amazingly helpful doing what they could to make me feel better and get back to watching dolphins! They were attentive and just super chill people and I really appreciate them & their personalities. This was so much fun and a nice little trip :)

Saw lots of dolphins. The staff were friendly. It was advertised as a breakfast tour but there was no breakfast, so that part was a bit misleading

My review comes with a compliment and a warning.
First off, the boat operated at half capacity, and all passengers wore their masks. Well most did. I'll explain later. The crew was awesome. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Social distancing was a bit hard to maintain because everyone wanted to gather to see the animals as we spotted them, but we mostly all stayed apart. We did see a ton of dolphins (sooo cute!) and a couple of humpback whales. Awesome! For that and the crew, I give this 5 stars.

Now here's the warning: Unless you want to spend the tour with your face in a

Nice trip on a Sunday afternoon. Entertaining and informative dialog. Boat was clean and comfortable. We saw lots of dolphins, adults and youngsters. Had to see at least 50. Quite amazing, the captain placed us right in the middle of the pods. They were all around us, bow, stern, port, and starboard. Really quite amazing. Didn't see any whales, but they weren't around today. Saw tons of bunker but I guess the whales weren't interested in feeding at this buffet. With no whales the trip seemed a little boring for the young kids on the boat, but they were screaming happy to see all

This was a fun experience with a bunch of family members. I had found a nice deal they were offering on Groupon. Please, call ahead though to reserve your spots. They were kind enough to take us out for more than 3 hours for the dolphin and whale watching tour, just so we can catch the sight of a few more whales they saw breaching. We were able to see 5/6 whales! Our first experience of seeing humpback and any kind of whale actually, so a nice experience. If you plan to stand outside or sit on the top level outside, please wear a hat and wear sunscreen, a few of us got sunburnt due to not doing
