From humble beginnings as a 15-seat coffee house, River Stop Cafe & Social House has been an ever-evolving, independently owned small business with it's heart rooted in the community. From morning to afternoon, we operate as a counter-service Cafe. Come on up and order from a range of soups, sandwiches, espresso drinks, or from the bar, knowing we source our goods as locally as possible.

After you order, we bring the goodness to you. On Fridays and Saturdays, from 4pm on, we operate as a Social House. Come in, sit down, and enjoy. We have a separate dinner menu featuring small plates, flatbreads, shareables, and more. Our bar is stocked with Michigan microbrews, good wine, and barrel-aged cocktails, to name a few.

The food was cold and congealed. My husband's scrambled eggs were hard and cold and very overpriced. Our waitress was nice but very slow.

All of the staff are amazing. I always get a chai or iced vanilla latte and Haley makes it perfect every time. She’s an awesome server with an awesome attitude.

Great time with awesome company. Was catching up with a friend after years and the server was quite accommodating!! The good was awesome and decent priced!! The coffee was some of the best I've ever had!! Well definitely tell everyone to go!! Great job guys and gals!

I love their unique sandwich wraps and paninis. My favorite go-to latte is the Brown Trout - a luxury espresso drink if there ever was one! The atmosphere is perfect to meet with friends, study, or bring a book. And it is close to fun shops in Newaygo.

Haven't been there in a while until today. Robin and crew always do a great job. Try the brown trout (coffee). Perfect atmosphere that reflects Newaygo. Unique sandwiches and wraps. Homemade soups and desserts.

I came here for a place to work due to a storm that took all the power out in Fremont. When I showed up, I explained that I would be using a table to work for the day due to lack of wifi at home. The waitress said that was no problem. I ordered a coffee when I got there and lunch later in the day. Once I finished my lunch, no more than 5 minutes later, an employee (maybe owner or manager) came up to me and said they needed that table for the lunch rush and asked me to leave. This is completely unacceptable and not how you treat a paying customer. This resulted in my scrambling for somewhere to

The food was good! We got an iced latte, summer breeze drinks, a Bloody Mary (not pictured cuz it was drank in about 2 mins) we got the campfire breakfast sandwich, Rick’s breakfast sandwich, roast beef panini and three cherry bars.
