The Creamery Antique Mall
The Historic Creamery Building has been home to the Bitterroot Cooperative Creamery which provided a marketplace for the milk and cream from local dairies and was central to the local economy. In 1911, the co-op creamery in Stevensville, Montana, burned to the ground. Manager John Howe told the community that if they helped rebuild the creamery within 30 days, he would host the biggest celebration that they had ever seen.

The community came through and so did Howe. Now it has become an antique mall under the new ownership of Carrie McEnroe. Carrie has studied business management and sales and marketing at the University of Montana in Missoula and has a long and successful background in retail sales and display, having managed several businesses in Big Sky, where she lived for nearly 20 years.

Set aside some time to check it out. You'll be glad you did. History you can touch. Not a place to hurry through.

The space is well organized with lots of themed rooms and an outdoor area full of larger items. While it's not necessarily easy to spot new merchandise, from visit to visit, the merchandise they have is high in quality, wide in selection, and seems to be fairly priced. It's easy to spend an hour or more checking out the nooks and crannies of the place. The purchases we've made were handled by staff who were pleasant and not pretentious as we've found at other antique shops in the valley. I dig this place!

First visit since they opened last April. Met the owner Carrie, very nice and knowledgeable. Space laid out well and items in each section were varied & interesting. If you are looking for something, I bet it is here. All four of us walked out today with purchases in hand. Will be going back to shop again soon. I especially liked the little cashier/cold drinks/ice cream room in the middle. Fun idea!
