John had been let go from GM due to the downturn in the economy. I decided that it was time to start a business. Since Ken was 5 years old and Skip was 4, I thought I would stay at home with the children, to answer the phone while John would sweep the chimneys. At that time John worked half time for Wright State University.
The next year John got on full time with Wright State, and Northmont had all day every other day kindergarten for Skip. On the days that Ken & Skip were at school, I would sweep chimneys. John stayed part time in the business for the next 20 years. I'm sure there are still many of our customers that remember us being in their home when we wore top hats and tails.

Abbey Road Chimney Sweeps installed a chimney liner in my 1950s home that I just moved in to. During the installation process they cleaned out over a dozen old bird nests, which would have been a major problem. The eight inch liner they installed was top quality, which was retrofitted to my existing fireplace insert.

I was pretty disappointed when I had to wait 9 weeks for service only to be asked the day before to wait another week and then when they did show up the technician was not able to complete service. I was told $325 for 4 fireplaces then I was told less than that then I was told it would be more. My suggestion to future customers would be to be very specific when you call. Tell them what types of fireplaces you have, tell them how many, how big, how old, if you think there's any problems, what they might be, etc. I didnt realize having a century old home with 4 gas fireplaces was going to complicate

The first time I used Abbey Road to sweep my fireplace years ago I was impressed by their professionalism and honesty. I remember the technician taking a look and letting me know at the time that it didn't need to be swept. He showed me how to tell when it does need it for future reference. How is that for honesty? He could have charged me twice the amount for an unneeded cleaning and I wouldn't have been the wiser.
They are a little on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for! I made the mistake of having someone else sweep it just one time because they were half the price and they took

Great Service and very fair pricing!! Ken was great! Explained everything in detail and gave us great advice on how to move forward in our issues with our Buck Stove. I was nervous about having to purchase a whole new stove, but it ended up being a simple fix to the damper. He did a complete inspection and then cleaned the chimney. Saved us a bunch of money! Highly recommend Abbey to everyone! Thanks again!

Ken was excellent. He made sure that he understood everything that needed to be done before starting and focused on getting those tasks done quickly and efficiently. After finishing, he ensured that I understood everything that he had done, to include before and after pictures. As these were fixes for a home inspection on a sale, he also texted me the photos so that I could share with the new owner. Top notch effort and professionalism. Also, kudos to the office staff. This is busy season for this company and I had an appointment six weeks from request. However, they found room on the calendar

Excellent customer service, thank you Ken and Angela. Ken came out to clean and inspect the fireplace on 11/9/16, told me that the fireplace did not need cleaned at this time, showing me with a mirror what it looked like and explaining what it will look like when it does need cleaned. This saved me the cleaning cost, I appreciate the honesty.
