SLO Chinese Medical Center
Ken is amazing! I have never had a provider listen and care about the pain I experience the way he does. I suffer from fibromyalgia and also have 2 herniated discs in my lower back. I was excruciating pain when I first went to see him. This is my first experience with acupuncture, and I have to say I am so impressed!

Each time I get a treatment my pain is significantly reduced. I was able to go off of the muscle relaxers and opiods I was taking and I sleep better as well. I highly recommend Ken to anyone who is in pain and looking for a way to get their life back. Ken is so skilled and helpful.listens to my concerns and addresses them directly.
Services
Blue Cross and Blue Shield only cover acupuncture private sessions (30 minutes), so full sessions are strongly encouraged and will only be an additional $50. Each insurance claim is billed via service codes, but the amount on the insurance bill does not reflect what is paid or what you owe.

The reason for this is because all codes must be billed the same amount for each company, but each company only pays the amount that we were contracted to receive (far lower than what the bill reflects). For acupuncture only visit, if there is a deductible, you only pay the lower contracted rate per visit.
Please note that we need to keep a card on file for all patients and charge that card after your service and for no shows/late cancellations. No shows are charged 100% of the service charge and late cancellations (less than 24 hours notice) are charged 50%. Emergencies will not be charged.

Blue Cross/Shield patients have the choice to either have a consultation for the first visit or upgrade to a Yin/Yang full treatment ($50 out of pocket, includes full time and massage). For cash or Aetna/United Health Care patients, please book Yin-Yang Full treatment for your first visit.
Chinese medicine has an intricate set of diagnostic and treatment tools for all kinds of internal imbalances. Anything that would bring you to Chinese medicine under normal circumstances can be accomplished via telemedicine. We talk or Facetime at length about your issue and you send me pictures of your tongue and ears (for diagnostic and treatment reasons).
If you'd like to speak with us before booking your appointment, or you can't find what you're looking for in our online schedule, please call us and we will be happy to help you. Our online scheduling system is quick, convenient and allows you to scan multiple days for the right time. If you don't see a time that works for you, contact us and we might be able to fit you in (Established clients).
At SLO Chinese Medical Center, we use very fine, sterile, disposable needles and you'll generally feel a little pressure where the needle is inserted. It almost feels like someone is pressing down on the point with a finger. Chinese medicine is wonderful for a lot of things, but a short, 10 minute conversation will do wonders to determine if it is right for you.
