Where do I start? This was my first mediation experience for an agreement with my child’s father. The first thing he asked was “is the magistrate with us & is this being recorded?” There was no judge there and so that gave him incentive to say whatever he felt. He didn’t remain impartial. My child’s father is a narcissist and very easy to manipulate. This was over zoom so my ex went first with the mediator & manipulated the mediator right off the bat. I spent four hours and $400+ later being coerced into settling. Many unprofessional comments from the mediator. I do not recommend him

So.. for the short hour of his meditated time, he explained his part, his past & yrs of service. I found him a kind man. Very cordial, & mildly empathetic.. but you'll find that in most lawyers during the 1st visit. I thought of using him for upcoming hearings until we started the sessions & he didn't have any of the cases information, files or documents on hand to be knowledgeable about the needs or wants of the ppl. After speaking to boths sides only 'once' it was concluded an impasse. Fully disappointed 2hrs weren't used, & *to me - a gulf was made larger by lack of knowledge & understanding
