We specialize in "general" mechanical repair and diagnostics in the Alexandria, MN area. Our shop Rate is currently at 60 dollars per hour for labor. The services we offer range from engine diagnostics, brake jobs, oil changes, front end work, and everything in between. Costs for services always vary per vehicle, and prices are always communicated up front to the customer.
Wheel bearings, shocks, struts, heating, cooling, electrical, windshield wipers, transmision flush, whatever it is that your car needs, we can address with you and advise you of the best course of action that makes sense for the life of the vehicle and your budget. Very friendly and courteous, and a prime example of a good family owned small town business. I dropped my vehicle off two days before my appointment for a new alternator and they ended up squeezing it in on the same day. They were even courteous enough to give me a ride home and pick me back up. I would definitely recommend this shop.

I got caught with a dead battery far from home. They were able to get to me in about 5 minutes, and I had a new battery installed 15 minutes later. I wasn’t overcharged for the service call and was treated with great service. I would recommend them to anyone in the Alec area.

I’ve had a great experience the couple of times I’ve used Swanstrom. Very friendly, straight forward with the price which I’ve found to be fair. Took them a little longer on a job than expected and I still was only charged what they estimated. Great place to get your vehicle worked on whether it’s maintenance or repairs.

God Bless the Swanstrom family. If not for this wonderful family, I would have never made it home. My son and I recently traveled the country in my van -- after being on the road since first week of March, on… our way home to Detroit, Michigan my alternator went out on me. Mr. Terry Swanstrom quickly got us up and running first thing next morning within an hour, and back on the road home. Still had a long drive ahead of us, from Minnesota to Michigan -- took us about a day and a half. We made it home, the van is running great. My son and I will forever be grateful. Thank you!
