With My Own Two Hands Foundation
Without access to clean water and healthy food, cycles of systematic poverty and gender inequality continue. Together we can change this and ensure the most basic human rights are met for all people. We believe that every person on this planet has a fundamental right to clean water and nutritious foods.

We create water independence, sustainable agriculture and educational opportunities to foster self-reliance in East Africa. We address systemic poverty and gender inequality by eliminating the financial and time burden of sourcing clean water. Our impact is tangible, concrete and instant. See the clean water flowing from our boreholes and see healthy food growing in our small-scale farming projects.

Our Founder, Lindsey Pluimer, was an All-American basketball player at UCLA. Inspired by a class discussion, Lindsey pledged to visit Africa and work to address inequality there. When she had the opportunity to travel to South Africa, she recognized the immense lack of basic human rights, but she also saw, first hand, the resilience and hope in the communities she visited.
Too many lives are lost due to unsafe water, too much time wasted by women and children walking for water and too much of the developing world's modest income spent on sourcing water. Without access to sustainable sources of water, it's impossible to grow healthy food and cycles of poverty continue.
