W. D. Cline & Sons Lumber Co. Inc. is locally owned and operated by Conrad Cline and his brother Brian Cline. Cline Lumber was founded in the early 1960's by their grandfather William "W.D." Cline. In 1967, W.D. and his two sons established the lumber company at its current location in North Dalton.
Yellow Pine has one of the highest densities of all structural lumber species, providing superior fastener-holding power and load-bearing capacity. Yellow Pine, also, offers a distinct grain pattern and an appealing golden color. Because of this natural beauty, exposed Air Dried Yellow Pine provides architectural appeal.
For our Yellow Pine Specialty Products we use only slow growing Dense Logs, that have very close growth rings. This makes for more stable and better appearing products. This usually comes from U S Forest Service Land or from Pine that is mixed in with heavy hardwood stands. We do not use fast growing plantation pine.
Crown mouldings are used where walls and ceilings meet. They are used to cover large angles and are always sprung. Crown mouldings can also be used as a transition to a mantle or a shelf or even in conjuction with other mouldings for a "compound" trim look. In addition to our crown profiles, please look at our cove and bed moulding profiles which are used in similar applications.
A face frame in cabinet making is the frame fixed to the front of a cabinet carcass which obscures the edges of the carcass and provides the fixing point for doors and other external hardware. A face frame provides strength to the front of a cabinet and is also considered a visual feature of particular styles of furniture.

Outstanding products and workmanship at great prices. We recently purchased rough pine beveled siding for our cabin project and couldn't be more pleased with the results. We used less than 10% of calculated waste material because the siding was nearly flawless. It was evident that the mill workers were very conscientious in their choice of lumber to make the lap siding for us. The outcome was almost too good to be true and we couldn't be more pleased. We were also stunned by the low price for the material, particularly once we came to pick up the final product.
