A dear friend from Virginia sent me a surprise floral arrangement for Christmas. It was late in the day but a delightful gentleman drove out to Harvey in a snowstorm to deliver the stunning arrangement so we would have it for Christmas Eve festivities.

We very unexpectedly lost our father and I have used Flower Works for multiple arrangements and bought most of my plants from them, which I’ve loved. I called to have an arrangement done for the funeral and… asked for something rustic with pine or birch branches, *some* dried grasses and some fall colored flowers. I was so disappointed when my husband picked up the order and I saw the photo on the left. Hands down the best vendor I worked with during my wedding! Andrea and her team were AMAZING! I am a procrastinator and gave them very short notice that I needed flowers for my wedding! I mostly ordered greenery but it was beautiful! I loved everything and got a lot of compliments! Very reasonably priced! The delivery person, (Dar) and person who took my order were both very helpful and considerate. The designer who contacted me with a question was very rude. If I was a person who reacted negatively to the experience I had with her, I would have been very upset and probably cancelled my order. I did not do so, but hope the designer is given training in more positive customer service. I am confident the order will be to my daughter's and my expectations. Ordered flowers online $55 best bouquet of the day or something like that, about $65 after taxes etc. Followed up with a phone call to verify the order had gone through. The delivery was for the next day and I was assured it would be delivered on time with no issues. Next day I hadn't heard anything from the recipient and it was 4:30 pm and the store closes at 5 pm so I called the shop again to get an update on the delivery status. I was assured that the flowers would be delivered that day, and that even though the store closes at 5pm, that the delivery drivers stay working until all deliveries

The owner is a gem. So willing to go the extra mile. Very kind and thorough. My daughter is a student @ NMU in Marquette and I've sent plants to her a couple of times. As I walked in, I was amazed at the huge selection of beautiful flowers. Not only were there several things already made and some amazing plants, I was able to watch a designer create a gorgeous hand tied arrangement and I thought, I wish that was coming to my house!

They did a phenomenal job on my order from out of town--so good, in fact, that not only did the recipient think they were beautiful, but her colleague gushed over them so much she had to call that day and order some of her own for a friend. So impressed with this florist! I called from out of state to order an orchid for someone in the hospital. Not only was the orchid beautiful, but they sent someone back up to the hospital to explain how to take care of it (instructions were too small). They re-wrote the instructions to be clearer. Now that is excellent customer service!

I purchased a barrel cactus and the staff was very friendly and provided helpful tips to keeping my cactus alive. What I think is neat is that all the arrangements are handmade and designed to be as customized as you want.
If you want to support a truly local and talented floral artist, Flower Works is the place to go. Don't forget to check out their greenhouse in the back, it is beautiful.
